I guess with RJ or KB as LEader of the Opposition, it does potentially open the door for some kind of merge with Reform.

Yup we're going to have a bona fide nazi party in opposition.  I expect Farage to join in too.

To class anyone right of centre as a Nazi is quite frankly offensive.

Such is the polarisation of the media. It’s really very sad.

I think it's also because a lot of Brits' knowledge of history and the wider world is like 90% WW2 and America.

Yeah.

I would also say that knowledge (or lack thereof) contributes to the political views that drive that polarisation, as well as the polarisation itself, though.

... and all the time while a statistically significant portion of the population of their country believe, sincerely, that the event itself is a plot concocted by them to steal their "freedom" and/or they're directing all the resources being used to "illegals".

Was literally about to post about Hurricane Milton, might just be me but I find it strange that some people are choosing not to leave who are capable of leaving. I understand that some might not be able to leave cause they literally can't. Those who are just choosing not to leave I just find strange especially if it's not family they're staying for. Or is that just me?

The briefing is talking a lot about 'words matter' and the fact phrases like 'downgrading' the hurricane from a Cat 5 to cat 4 for example is giving residents a false sense of security.

I get the impression some people literally have no idea what's about to hit them.

Sadly, I fear that to be more true than we know.

Fair play to Biden. He might be a bit incoherent but I sense he really cares and is genuinely concerned for people.

100%

Think the stress of campaigning was definitely having an impact on him. He's been largely fine since.

it was never forecast to be anything more than high cat 3/low cat 4 at landfall.  They shouldn’t be speaking about Milton downgrading in strength other than with a comment ‘as expected’ before they say it and pushing the narrative that it’s the storm surge and tornado activity as much as the hurricane force winds which will be life threatening.

Heinrich sorry I mean Jenrick and Badenoch - what are the Tories doing.

I guess this one cannot be any worse than the leaders they have had recently?

I just think when you see people who are from Florida who say they're use to hurricanes but are scared about this one just shows how bad it could really get.

Jenrick would be worse than Sunak and Johnson.

Granted it’d be hard to be worse than Truss.
