More Wigston (Magna, though I haven't heard anyone call it that in years). At last count there are 8 men's hairdressers in Wigston town centre.

It's so obvious that a small town like Wigston can't support that many hairdressers in such a small area, I'm amazed these places aren't thoroughly investigated.

Aside from the 2-3 that have been there for years, there's never anyone in the others.

Have to say this just isn't true seeing as I personally know a few of them.

Most of these shops are run through booking apps now, gone are the days of queues of people sat there waiting for a cut. You turn up at the time you're booked, get in the chair as the other chap leaves. So the shops are generally empty other than the people in the chair. But it doesn't mean they aren't fully booked up.

Quite a few are off shoots of other shops. Mane Room that not long opened, was set up by someone leaving Mancave and taking all his clients with him.

Styles are different now; back in the day, I probably went 6 weeks or more between cuts, nowadays I'm probably getting it done 3 times a month!

You believe they raided his house the same day but didn’t tell the Government what they found until a few weeks ago?

If it’s true then the heads of the police or whatever service found it should be made to resign. But I highly doubt the Government knew nothing, they all knew from day 1.

I don't know what to believe, but I do know they shouldn't be discussing this criminal investigation as freely as they are in public.

The Tories and Reform are being absolutely disgraceful on this case. Acting as if they’ve been proved “right” or that there’s been a “cover up” when nothing of the sort has happened. They’re actively risking a fair trial and safe conviction by stirring up misinformation among people who have no understanding of police or court procedures.

Reprehensible *****.

They all know that the government can’t and won’t be able to comment on it for prosecution purposes, so are peddling that they’re covering it up.

Only a week ago the same people were complaining that identities shouldn’t be revealed until someone is found guilty in the Kabba case. It’s almost like these people want one rule for white people and another for minorities.

Or Syrian. Or Muslim. Don't let facts get in the way of a good racist misinformation fest.

Welcome to the digital era, where facts of a matter appear to mean nothing and the consequences of that are becoming ever more apparent.

CPS/Police are sometimes conflicted on release of information; they have to question if it prejudices their case. The worry I suspect for them would have been contempt of court situations arising.

When people say they can't trust anymore in regards to legal proceedings, it's often a battle of avoiding the case they are dealing with being prejudiced and affected.

Tommy Two Names nearly completely collapsed a case against a Huddersfield based paedo ring because he started sharing information which was prejudicing the case. Thankfully there was still 20 convictions and over 220 years of prison time sentenced.

EDIT: @urban.spaceman already mentioned all this.

I’m very excited for the culmination of the election. One horrible, bigoted, weird looking man who runs on a mandate of hatred and racism, against a useless, minority ethnic woman, who has no ideas and will be clueless on a global stage…the Tory leadership election.

Sunak's last PMQs as leader of the opposition shows how much better suited he has been to that role than he ever was as PM.

He's found a dignity and distinct sense of grown up professionalism since swapping sides of the house. And he's to be followed by either Jenrick or Badenoch...

It's lucky/very fortunate that UK residents don't have the extent of flooding issue compared to what Spain is having right now..

It is indeed.

But sadly these events aren't going away any time soon and at some point the UK will be affected, directly and/or indirectly.

It’s bananas. The Tories have literally just been in power for one and a half decades, yet now they (read: Jenrick) are making out there’s some sort of clandestine cover-up going on. I mean, come off it. If there were any foundations for a cover-up to even be possible, their lot must have laid them.

You're making the tragic error of introducing logical deduction into the matter.

If the deplorable Jenrick somehow loses his party vote, I reckon he has “desert to Reform” written all over him.

Just one more MP after him and we can call them the SS Club 7. :fc:

I find it increasingly difficult to know what to believe in politics. And that's partly why I spoilt my paper at the last election.

Each side accusing the other of not being straight and honest - it's tiresome.

So as for the last 35 years of my working life, I'll just play the hand I'm dealt and get on with it.

That budget wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting.

Nor what I was expecting. Still shite mind. Only decent thing announced was keeping the fuel duty froze.

Yoinking 25 big ones from businesses is gonna take away every middle earners wage increase next year I'd imagine. And keeping the tory income tax thresholds frozen for another 4 years is garbage.

Shafting people on buses and trains goes against the Labour for working people grain.
