That's been us all season unfortunately. Defensively terrible, especially on set-pieces but at least we score goals which is giving us a slim chance of getting out of it. O'Neil is still trying to compromise between a back 3 and a back 4. We switched to the latter in the second half today after going behind, the same as he did at Brighton last week. No idea how to fix it is my guess. He's subtly trying to blame signings not having enough experience, but the fundamental organisation just isn't there. 

 

He'll definitely be sacked before the international break if we don't beat Southampton. They'd have to act then to give any new guy a chance to get us out of it. Makes no sense to try and get someone in before that as they'd have no time to prepare for that game. Potter might be interested if we're lucky but I can't see him wanting to work under our CEO and Sporting director who have control over all the financial and signings.

Still quite hope that Everton struggle once more, potentially seeing them play in their new stadium if they finally go into the Championship..

I don't think VAR was going to over rule that late disallowed goal for Palace though.

It's always used about our title winning season but using the performance of English teams in Europe on a particular season as a barometer, in the champions league Man City got to the semis and Liverpool got to the final of the europa league. Last season there were no English teams in either the champions league or europa league semi finals. If Arsenal won the league last season I doubt many would have said they only won it because it was a poor premier league.

I mean, there’s a lot and shit teams in the league….. no amount of data will suggest that the likes of palace and wolves aren’t absolutely rancid. Forest aren’t even that good, and they’re flying.

This makes no sense. If there are a lot of shit teams, there are teams better than them. There are two teams in each match. Maybe they’re crap because everyone else is better?

Forest are good as they are beating everyone including a team who’s won 3/3 in the Champions league. How are they ‘not that good’? Because they battered us, but we beat Bournemouth, who are beating top of the league teams!

A shame Maddison hasn't kicked on as he should have. Player with a huge amount of talent; but due to injuries, spurs tending to play without a '10' and inconsistency he hasn't really taken the next step
