Not to be a downer, but they’ve got by far the easiest fixtures. Hope I’m wrong, but I see them getting more than Chelsea and Villa

It's such a shame that we're one of their remaining fixtures as the 3 points they get from that game will probably ensure they still have a chance of qualifying for CL on the final day v Chelsea, even if they lose their 2 away games. Shades of our bottled shoot out v Man U on the final day of 2019/20.

They’re playing terribly and have been worked out. They’ll beat us but Palace away will be difficult and West Ham could still do a job on them. Remember our run in 2019/20 and the season after, it’s very similar.

Yep. Could be six PL teams in CL next season. 

 

And if Man City win FA Cup, 7th placed get Europa League. 

 

As Newcastle won the league Cup they already qualify for Europe, so it's likely that 8th place will get Conference League.

As much as we still bottled it, it does frustrate me that 5th gets you in the champions league this year. We finished 5th 2 years in a row. Thing might be different now, they might not be though, probably just paper over cracks.

At the start of the season, yes. But it's like being 2-0 up against Liverpool after 85 minutes and coming away with the draw; you'd take it before the game, but call it two points dropped due to circumstances.

 

Rationally, they're a midtable side for whom UEL qualification is a very impressive achievement. But football fans and, crucially, their owner aren't rational.

 

They will see it as bottling UCL qualification, and a slow start in the Premier League next season as they struggle to balance trips to Qarabag on a Thursday with Bournemouth away on the Monday night would put the manager under pressure. We've been there. Twice. And Rodgers had the credit in the bank of a trophy that Nuno doesn't have.
