Don't want to open a can of worms here but why are Israeli teams still allowed to play in Europe? Putting aside the fact they're not remotely in Europe anyway, Russian teams were banned instantly yet these jokers are still here.

Quite literally the definition of chat shit get banged.

Would be if they somehow magically managed to specifically target and "bang" the folk who chanted these things or tore the flag down.

Instead vigilante groups roamed through the city and battered anyone and everyone who couldn't sufficiently prove they weren't Israeli, or get this - Jewish - . They even attacked some Ukrainian tourists because they wouldn't or rather couldn't speak Dutch.

Here's a short post from a Dutch forum today: "I found it a hallucinatory experience to come across a roadblock of masked youths on an Amsterdam canal and to be asked my nationality. “Dutch,” I stammered with my cowardly mouth. “Oh, then it’s okay.” When I asked what the wrong answer would have been, the answer came: “As long as you’re not Jewish.” I’m still shaking."

If you're having to wail "I'm not Jewish" simply to avoid being put into hospital in 2024 we've got a fkn problem.

I also don't want to open a can of worms on this and for what it's worth, I couldn't care less if the actual folk who did the chanting or the flag stuff got battered.

But that's not what happened - unrelated Maccabi TLV fans, Jews, Israelis and even other nationalities were assaulted last night on the premise of their attackers perceiving them to be Maccabi TLV fans, Israelis or Jews. Screenshots of chat histories going around where it's basically becoming evident that people were planning on finding and hunting Maccabi fans, or as they put it in their messages, Jews specifically ahead of time.

Like I said in one of my first posts there are always going to be bystanders caught up in this kind of thing.

Like the taxi driver that got beaten up by Tel Aviv fans on Wednesday night for example.

Finally, a journalist actually points out the story that is being completely ignored by the Dutch authorities. And the response? The Mayor may as well just stop talking and blow Netanyahu on live TV. Ridiculous.

I'm disappointed about BBC's coverage. Barely any reports or articles about the racist language in the stadium, the hordes of fans causing trouble (which is probably their primary goal as opposed to watching the game). Not much mention of the 'tragedy chanting' about the flood victims in Spain.

I have sympathy for anyone innocently caught up in any troubles and those that actually had intentions of watching a football match as opposed to purposely stoking or being involved in violence.

The Madrid President t has said  “New Champions League format has NOT solved the problems. It is an unfair system. UEFA increased the number of matches, but they are worth less than before.”

Is he worried Real won't get through?

It's the first time in my life I'm bored to death watching a league table and I regurarly watch the tables from every part of the world out of curiosity for decades. Whoever thought this new format is interesting must be schizophrenic.

Was beautiful just to hear them mess up Jon Champion's pre-prepared drivel about normal service being resumed.

Has Guardiola literally dug his nails into his head, what are all those streaks? 😭

Basically admitted self harming..

I mean they shouldn't be this bad in defence surely?

Great win for you guys though.

I've found the coverage of Guardiola last night a bit alarming.

No one should be stressed enough to be doing that to himself, if that's happening in any other job you're being given time off.

Instead we've got the usual massive social media accounts making a joke about it.

It's no wonder they've been piss poor if the manager is looking that downtrodden it'll rub off on the players.

Absolutely no idea why he signed that new contract, the bloke needs a rest!
