That's a quite frankly a dreadful line up.

 

2 bomb scares at CB

A competition winner at LB

3 Defensive Midfielders at home

Still relying on a 38 year old striker.

Expecting Fatawu to literally be the only creative spark.

Apart from Fatawu, no pace up top to transition quickly. Vardy lost that yard.

Not playing buonoatte who arguably is our most creative and best ball carrier player this season.

Riccy P still not starting.

 

Tough old game ahead and it's not going to be pretty. I fear for us.

I'm certainly not Cooper out so early. I hope he does well. But as for the starting line up, I am not convinced by Ndidi instead of Buonanotte or El Khannouss, and think the defence would be improved by Vestergaard and Pereira.

Want to get behind Cooper but it’s extremely difficult when he’s picking negative line ups like that.

So what do people expect? I can think of 3 obvious changes:

 

Ricardo in - unfortunately was very poor in the first half during the week so obviously that's used against him

 

Ndidi out for Buonanotte - Ndidi was also pretty pants and then scored a great goal. Said at the time that was the worst thing that could have happened as it meant he'd come into the team. FB was completely ineffective against Fulham as well.

 

Mavididi - He was absolutely abysmal against Tranmere until the last 20 mins or so.

 

So if you're looking at it with Cooper's lens, these decisions are all justified. Like most of you, if rather see these changes but I've accepted the way things are for us so not surprised and just feel a bit meh, rather than super annoyed.

Cooper will be criticised heavily if this line-up backfires.
