The failure to book their guy today for hacking down Soumare was pathetic could argue the first bloke who tried and failed should also got a yellow and then to book soumare for a pull back within a minute sums the ever poor Taylor up

We took a quick free quick so no YC is awarded, it’s one of the relatively new rules.  The same would have applied if he had played advantage and we had gone on to score.

We didn't lose because of the ref, we lost because we are just shit.. And the whole club needs a reset starting with the owners..

The better team won no doubt

Best they tell all the refs then as I see plenty of refs go back when play stops and punish foul play.

The Wolves keeper was on the floor for 3 mins 10 seconds with the physios after being caught by Vardy at the start of the second half. Coupled with the substitutions and general time wasting and we get just 4 minutes stoppage time in total. In the circumstances I would've preferred just blowing at 90 mins to put us out of our misery but the game must be played to the laws and it was yet another example of getting it wrong.

It’s only if the team goes on to score after playing an advantage that a yellow for ‘breaking up a promising attack’ or a red for ‘denying an obvious goals scoring opportunity’ get downgraded.  If the attacking team takes a quick free kick then it applies whether they go on to score or not.  In either circumstance if it’s for foul play (eg reckless or dangerous foul) then the ref applies the full sanction at the next break in play.

Having said all of that you could easily argue that the foul on Soumare was reckless so Taylor should have gone back anyway.

Do they need to make it so complicated and change so much ?

No wonder people don’t understand the rules .

The longer the Premier League turn their noses up at the automatic offsides, the longer this farce will go on with drawing the protractor lines.

I'd argue it becomes double punishment to effectively run down the clock for the team chasing once the decision is made

We all want as many decisions correct as possible but it is a spectator sport and the most frustrating is a slow, delayed game. There should be time limits set.

They are going to bring it in but been delayed for some reasons .

The problem is you don’t really get to see what was right about the decisions. Especially for their 2nd goal the lines made little sense.

Surely that's wrong. At the very least there are multiple refs who haven't got the memo, if you're right. Quite apart from the fact that the rule wouldn't make any sense. Surely refs simply stop a quick free kick if they have to book a player, or do it after advantage has been played.

absolutely dogshit. god knows how many of their players did enough for two yellows to not even get a first. Robertson should have definitely been off for two bookable offences in the same passage of play, and MacAllister and VVD did enough for an accumulation as well.

It made little impact to the result but for me the ref had comedic periods where Liverpool could do almost anything and he’d wave his arms and tell our player to get up!!! Bordering on farcical at times… thankfully not the whole game

The rule is quoted verbatim about 6 posts above, we might not like it but it’s there in black and white.  The key point is that it only applies to ‘stopping a promising attack’ (ie a professional foul) not foul play.

Add Gapko to that list as well, very handsy.

Thought the advantage played on the Robertson yellow was awful.

I hate it when we play big clubs. Never get the rub of the green. I think Oliver is one of the better refs but he’s got history of favouring Man City.

Let them get away with murder. Fell for them falling over a lot. Two really harsh bookings for us. Was it a pen? Was at the other end so couldn’t see clearly. Let Ortega time waste, booked him as a token gesture then let him carry on doing it. No booking for De Bruyne diving? Again was at the other end so can’t speak too much but it looked like a dive? Savinho throwing the ball away, also no booking.

Add Soumare getting taken out and not booking the player for a yellow & delaying his return to the pitch.

Blatant shirt pull on Soumare by Foden not booked either.

Oliver is 🔔 end
