What do we need in January?

Based on the season so far what do we need to stay up?

My opinion so far… Get me 2 new full backs so i dont need to watch JJ and VK

First choice left back has to be the main target

 

Then also be starting Ricardo at right back

 

Thankfully we seem to be able to get goals from multiple players around the pitch as well so not quite as urgent for me but I do think by then we will probably need to look at a new first choice striker

 

However other than the relegation season we don't really tend to like doing proper business in January unfortunately

We may well see Chilwell come in on loan…. He needs games before he will get an offer both him and Chelsea like.

 

 

I wouldn’t transfer list him, but I don’t think I’d be sad if we accepted an offer for Faes.  I’d like to see a CB with better positional awareness… our full backs are limited as it is but he puts them under so much more pressure pulling them all over the place.

 

 

Okoli has grown on me.  He’s turning into a decent acquisition. We need someone similar to partner him.

If Kieran Tierney is fit and healthy, I think he'd be a good loan option for us.

Fullbacks (bar ricardo) are wank, but I don’t see us swapping them out unless sold in summer or somehow in January, but doubt it.
 

striker, daka will soon be back, again the club will have 3 available. Obviously shouldn’t be relying on Vardy but evidently Edouard is also wank so no surprises. More than likely to be a summer signing with Vardy either moving on but also leaving Daka and Cannon. 
 

I don’t see us signing anyone unless there is a major sale or injury.

I still think that we should use JJ on the left and Ricardo on the right. I know it’s not JJ’s preferred position but he can play there at this level.

We dont normally buy heavy in Jan however we curbed our spending in the summer before winning the court case so hoping it means we got some coin to play with even if we have to do some Loans with obligation if we stay up.

It is his preferred position though? He's still played most of his games for us there, played for Luton in that position too. His best football (which he's a million miles from), was largely at LB although that season he played everywhere in defence and was immense.

 

I think people fixate on him not using his left foot much because of the role he played under Enzo. He was asked to tuck in and not go on the overlap but he's perfectly comfortable on his left. Also helps if you have Mavididi hugging the touchline that he can underlap but still go on the outside if Mavididi tucks in. 

 

I quite like VK but he's been at least as poor as JJ this season. And of course, Ricardo has to be in this team

We all want to see ricardo back in the starting 11 and JJ back on the left but the fact that Cooper has not even used him as a sub says its not going to happen any time soon (bizarre).

 

so the likely realistic solution in January is buy a new Left Back who is better than VK and leave JJ and Ricardo on the right.
