"Former Leicester winger Matt Piper believes the remarkable comeback against Southampton shows the Foxes' players are completely behind boss Steve Cooper.

I was buzzing! Contemplating at half-time whether to turn it off, I thought the game was over - like most people would.

But clearly we had already come back in a game where we were 2-0 down against Arsenal, so there's that little bit in the back of your mind.

I think the change of shape to a three at the back really helped.

Anyone that is questioning [Cooper], if you're not playing for the gaffer, you don't flick the switch at half-time. It was a massive result.

Backing up the three points from Bournemouth against Southampton, when we're two down at half time, was huge."

Says it all l think.

Gary Neville saying Vardy has lost his speed, isn't a skillful player and is only still playing because he's at a small club.

He's obviously never seen any of the assists, deft touches, lobs, crosses, spirit, opposition-baiting and leadership that Vardy adds, or for that matter that he can still burst through and score.

Neville too busy watching the greedy 6....

And that explains why Salford continually fail to get out of league 2 and seem a bit of a basket case of a club, continually making. knee jerk reactions

Looking at this team selection that we all wanted, it strikes me that we have only got two new arrivals that actually strengthen the Championship team (skipp V winks debatable), yet we signed seven players.

Ricky is playing inside next to Winks with Wilf pushing up like last year.

Thank ****. Oh please god let this work so Cooper doesn't sack it off after one match.

Big, big ask for Okoli to do the Vestergaard part though.

Are we playing Maresca ball?

Not quite. Not yet at least. Vestergaard will be a huge miss getting out through the lines with his passing but it's the same shape. Or, it's similar.

Facundo and Ndidi aren't quite equal 8s by the look of things. The midfield seems a bit weird.

Feels a bit that way but tbh im happy we starting a game without being overun in the 1st 5 mins, with hardly having the ball

Anyone else feeling they might have been a little harsh on Cooper to this point?

Yes, our best 11 on raw ability might have been obvious - but application, attitude and confidence are other factors in making team selections.

Perhaps what we haven’t considered was whether Cooper was playing the long game.

Perhaps Mav and Abdul needed a bit of grounding following promotion?

When Mav came in, he played like someone with something to prove. Similar can be said of Fawatu against Southampton.

And it can’t be missed that had we opened the season with those two in the side and had got battered - their confidence would have taken a huge knock?

I guess we’ll will see more tonight.
