It’s okay, we dominated the second half 😂😂😂, these things happen :surrender:

Hahaha that is class. We were absolutely dominant having already conceded four in the first half to the most profligate team in the league, and then conceded another for good measure. I did start off feeling a bit sorry for him because he's obviously well out of his depth and it's not his fault we appointed him but any such sympathy is long gone now.

Went for a pint, was going to go home, get a curry and watch it. Had 87 pints instead, thank the Lord I made that choice.

Anyway, that squad was League 1/2. I don’t think tonight’s game has any kind of gravity that the Ipswich game does.

3pts Saturday, everything is good. Let’s not forget, however ‘shit’ Man Utd are, we played a real second string, they’re one of the 3 biggest clubs in the world.

Absolutely dominant? We had a lot of the ball but really dominant? Can't remember really threatening their goal much at all? What planet does this guy live on?

Also regarding the mistakes - is he just going to say that in every game? Can't remember the last game we didn't make stupid mistakes in!

Keep possession, like before. Do nothing with it please for Christ sake do nothing with it.

You boys aren’t going to keep us up, so just try hard, try hard for your googly eyed master.

I would like to like him, but we have 9 points because of the players. We’d have many more with a better manager.

Just to change the subject a bit, the premier inn at Cheadle is great for planes coming in to land.

Trying to be positive 😘 so far all have landed safely

I am convinced that most of the players have about as much faith in Cooper as most of us on here do.

I can't think of one positive impact he has made on the club since his arrival. Not one.

He was an uninspiring appointment from day one and he has done nothing to change that view of him - quite the opposite in fact.

It's now time for the board to own up and admit they got it spectacularly wrong. Before things get worse, which all the evidence so far suggests they inevitably will.

Unfortunately I doubt the board has learnt from the Rodgers debacle at the end and won’t sack Cooper until it’s too late.

Luckily for the fans, too late might come as early as February.

I think he's right about the silly mistakes, far too many happening in dangerous areas and they're costing us dearly. That's nothing to do with Cooper it's sloppy play and at this level you get punished.

Really? Nothing? He's not solely responsible, obviously, but if he (and his staff) are unable to coach and prepare the players right, then he is ultimately responsible.

Our players are not THAT shit.

Isn’t it strange how poorly-coached teams are so much more prone to making silly mistakes?

Remember when Cooper tried Fatawu at left wing back in pre season..actually think it might not be a bad option now.

Back 3 of Faes, Vestergaard and Okoli

Ricardo and fatawu wing backs

Winks, Ndidi and Buonnatte in the middle

Ayew and Vardy up front...

Sacrifices Mavididi unfortunately but we need to find a way of being better at the back. None of them seem happy in a back 4.

Unfortunately you might be right. Fatawu gets stuck in and he has the energy to get up and down the line. Faes's consistency lets him down, but he still our best central defender. Wilf - I'd put him as a libero front and centre of defence. Then maybe Vestergaard could provide solidity even if he lacks mobility. Buonanotte is a given and Vardy, of course.

Who chose Cooper? If it was Rudkin...well, that wouldn't surprise me. Decent club, some decent players but still can't attract a Premier standard manager. Just like Rodgers - incapable of creative selections and timely subs. I was beginning to get cautiously confident, but now I do fear relegation.

Just got home from the game. Feared the worst when I saw the team sheet

Soumare and Ayew over best players. Ward did ok in goal, Okoli is one of the worst defenders we have ever had.
First 15 minutes of the second half we were bright and looked good but lack of quality in the box let us down.
I still think we can do enough to stay up but we have to defend better

Result was inevitable with the team announcements. One side pinning all of their silverware hopes on the League Cup, while the other just wants EPL survival. Game time for fringe players at a big stadium,  but nothing more.

Just got up to read the “we were dominant” comment. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. What weird fantasyland is Cooper living in?

Cooper set us up like a League One team. We’re in the same division as Man Utd, and have as much recent success as them. They are one place above us in the table.

It was cowardly from Cooper and a disgrace. He is very quickly becoming my least favourite manager of recent times.

Our squad is turgid through 5-6 season of poor investment, but Cooper couldn’t coach an egg out of a chicken’s arse.

Picking that team was the first issue, never mind how they are then set up. He made 9 changes ffs. Absolutely stupid decision to make that many changes.

We were always going to be going to a place where the home team wanted to win because they know the value of winning this competition.

He made 9 changes because the cups don't really matter this season. We need all our best players in the league to, hopefully, stay up.

Cooper would be hunted down and hung tonight if Vardy, Mavadidi or any of our better players got injured and were out for the season.

And yet he's being hunted down anyway because we were awful and conceded 5 goals.

When you're as bad as we are I don't think you can really select what competitions you want to perform in.
