Couldn’t be more us could it.

So basically. Decision made two weeks ago to sack both OHL boss and ours… but we had to wait until the little man is in town to do it “properly”?

A very odd episode all round.

He never looked like the right appointment from the outset and was clearly not a manager the fans would likely warm to.

Having hired him, however, I expected us to stick with him. Sacking him now seems like more evidence of muddled thinking. We’re not in the relegation zone (yet!) and we’ve just played two games against opponents who were always going to be big favorites to beat us.

I never wanted him in the first place. I didn’t understand why we signed him. I don’t understand the timing of the sacking now.

I’ll await with interest to see if the new hire inspires me with more confidence but, at the moment, it’s just more evidence that the people running the club don’t know what they’re doing!

I do feel sorry for the guy. Gave it a go but ultimately didn’t appear to have won over the players or fans so was always going to be an uphill task for him.

Surely we could attract Moyes, at least in a short term deal until the end of the season.

Why feel sorry for someone who stole a very lucrative living for a few months?

‘Gave it a go’ is about all he did. He brought nothing positive. A disastrous appointment - which thankfully the club have had the guts to acknowledge.

Actually wanted him to do well despite the Forest connection. Just never really got us going at any point and ultimately looked out of his depth. We probably dominated one game against Tranmere in the cup and that's simply not good enough in the time that's passed

Far too many instances of players arguing, being mysteriously dropped, cryptic comments to suggest it was not a settled camp.

I genuinely think if he had played our best team, had a real go and fallen short then he would be unfortunate. But bizarre selections, no style of play, stats heavily against us and I don't think there are too many complaints. We can continue to be a team that loses "narrowly" whilst doing very little. The margin for error in the table is reducing all the time.

I'm not sticking the knife in, because he seems like a decent guy, but I think he'll be managing in League 1 in a couple of seasons. He's an Adkins / Taylor type figure - some way short at the top level.
