I'd like a personal apology for all those that sneered at me for suggesting we don't not have someone lined up. Everything about the timing suggested we did, everything about the level this club operates at suggested we didn't.

Hi, HSV fan here. We have a bit of the same problem as you—it's very quiet around our new appointment. Ruud has actually been ruled out as unrealistic by some German media, mainly due to Leicester's interest (which makes sense; we were once a big club, but we just can't quite manage to get out of the second division anymore).

What's interesting, though, is that Ruud had a meeting with our management last winter but wasn’t available in the spring when Walter was fired (who, by the way, is doing great at Hull right now—irony off).

Now, an insider wrote this morning that our sporting director, Costa, is flying to London today to meet Ruud. That would fit with the silence around Leicester. However, I find it strange that Ruud would be in London and not Manchester. The insider has had a mixed track record so far. He later deleted his post and apologized for sharing such internal information.

Let’s see—things are definitely getting interesting. Best of luck to you! (Leicester, along with Aston Villa—where I once attended a match—is my favorite PL club, so I hadn’t expected that both clubs would ever compete for the same manager ;)).

You might get Walter back lol

God forbid! Don’t get me wrong—he did two years of great work in Hamburg (came very close to promotion). But at some point, he ran out of steam, and he only ever had one tactical plan! In the end, that just didn’t work anymore against deep-lying opponents.

You can have people lined up, but it is not sealed until someone signs a contract.

I like Carsley with what he’s done at U21 level, and as England caretaker, but it’s another question altogether as to whether he’s ready for a relegation fight in the PL.

This question applies to pretty much all the candidates we've been linked with.

Hopefully we make the call today, I do wonder if any speculated stalling on RVN is down to financials, he left PSV because he wasn't backed and I would imagine it's quite a tricky conversation about how much financial backing we can offer him.

What’s the problem with Carsley?

What's right with him?

We've had an England Youth Coach last time round and he had the much fabled 'Premier League Experience'. he was ****ing shit.

Not sure just think some reactions seem OTT. However this whole thread is a bit of a joke.

Fair point. I like him as a coach with what I’ve seen with England. I really like his style of play, and I think we’d score even more goals than we do now. Hopefully he or someone in his team could sort out the defence.
