People worried about the delay. These things take time, clauses in contracts that sort of thing, plus he’ll want assurances on his backroom staff and their contracts etc.

wouldn’t surprise me if it’s announced tonight and that he’ll be watching from the stands tomorrow, or worst case Sunday evening announcement

It’s a reoccurring theme though. We are absolutely useless at getting things done in a timely manner.

Carsley is levels above Cooper from a tactical and man management standpoint.

Based on what?
His only experience is at youth level with England and 3 games with the senior side where he had free range to do what he wanted. Domestically he’s got even less experience.

Carsley's excellent with young players and developing players in general. Also great at coaching technical aspects of the game - how to do things better etc.

But tactically, I don't think anyone can say whether he is any good. Simply not enough of a body of work. With England, he chopped and changed and tried different things. Nothing wrong with that, but he clearly doesn't have a philosophy that he swears by. And that's partly what makes him such an excellent technical coach for the training pitch. Tell him what to teach the players and he will do a great job.

Be good to have back room staff with clearly defined roles and doing what they do best. As opposed the _______ knows best so your decision means nothing approach, from recent years.

would Carsley and Ruud be able to work together?

It was 6 games with the senior side and in that time he played front footed attacking football. Played players in their best positions where he could. Trusted young players. Made good subs in good time and made proactive changes. The feedback from all of the England lads was fantastic. During that same period, Cooper often played our best players out of position and often benched them, fell out with at least three of them, made late, reactive subs, ignored our youth (e.g. Alves) and played with no obvious game plan. I’d take a less experienced Carsley over Cooper every day of the week

I think I read also, He has a win rating of 80 % with the Teams he worked with.

Highcliffe boy here. My first few weeks of at Stonehill were a bit of an eye opener, I can tell you 😳

Same as myself, but that was many many years ago, think it was when Highcliffe first opened as I did also go to Riverside before Hichcliffe opened

I joined a while after you by the sounds of it, but I'm not sure exactly how long as I've no idea when the school opened...

Heard we’ve been linked with Ricardo Pereira (FC Porto) James Maddison (Norwich City) Caglar Soyuncu (Freiburg) Jonny Evans (West Brom) Youri Tielemans (As Monaco) Rachid Ghezzal (AS Monaco) Filip Benkovic (Dinamo Zagreb) Danny Ward (Liverpool) Davide Lorenzo (An actual waiter)

I ain’t that optimistic on these but maybe Lorenzo will succeed?

Where did 7 years go?

Five managers, a horrible accident, two top six finishes, an FA Cup, a european semi final, Charity Shield win, a relegation and a title win/promotion. What a crazy seven years.
