If it’s Potter it needs to be ASAP otherwise cut the faff and get Moyes, McKinlay and Nolan in.

This board won’t have a clue who Roger Schmidt, Sergio Conceicao, Kasper Hjulmand or Niko Kovac are.

I’m sure Schmidt and Conceicao have been linked with us before. Conceicao when Ranieri left and Schmidt at the end of that season. I know it’s going back a while but hopefully we’ll at least look at them.

Well as everyone here thinks they are a better manager than Cooper, basically anyone will do, but for me please no more miserable lookin fukkers, so that rules Moyes out

I genuinely believe we are

The more I think about it the more RVN makes sense. He's already seen us up close twice so already have a good idea of the squad's strengths and weaknesses and where we need to improve in January.

I think most of us on here are more qualified based on that criteria.

Bah, rules me out too.

There again I don't think I'm a better manager than Cooper, so you're safe!

Potterball fills me with dread though so I think we should take the gamble.

You and me both my friend.

RvN is too much of a gamble, not because of his lack of Premiership experience, and whilst he did well at PSV, it's not enough as a manager for what IMO we need now.  Granted other European based managers "lack" the premiership know how, but they have a more rounded and substantial CV's in the arena of being a manager.

I can see the points you've made, so who would be your pick?

Those wanting Moyes. It will be the same football we play under him!

I'm hoping we go for someone like Ruud or Potter!

At least it will be coherent and he has a proven track record of doing it successfully at this level. Him simply not being Steve Cooper is also a huge plus.

It would be nice to see us seriously considering a top drawer coach from abroad, but I'm not sure our board is that brave mid season when we're so close to the drop zone.

Ruud is wanted by Hamburg too

So he has the choice of relegation battle with us or mid-table in the German second division

Hamburg would be a class job though if he gets it right

Maybe a bit of potential stardust from someone like RVN could be enough to attract a few better players to the club as opposed to the perceived " boring" type of appointment ,worth a try for me

Difficult, though.

They've been a basket case of a football club for years. Think a German Sunderland.

Do you know what mate. I've no idea if I'm honest..

I just think some of the more obvious and convenient managers names that others are posting Potter, RvN, Moyes etc while better than Cooper and not always a good fit for our club and more importantly our current players just became of their availability.

In two minds about Potter. On one hand, he'd be a safe bet, but on the other, Brighton have kicked on massively since he left and their football is so much better to watch now. They couldn't score in a brothel when he was in charge. However, he did help to lay a lot of the foundations that they're benefitting from now, though. He's got a bit of the Nige about him, but not as funny or as likeable...or as psychotic.

Was that supposed to be a joke? I hope so, though I don’t get it.

if it was serious, your football knowledge is incredibly poor. Hamburger SV were a huge club in their hay day.

I don't want Zidane. Not because there is no chance he'd come here anyway. But because his success came when he managed some of the world's best players.

Weird ****ing echo chamber you've found yourself in there....

I'm not sure it will be Potts. Moyes I can fully see happening as it's a very safe option.

I think Potter will hold on for the West Ham job. More stable prem side, good squad, big stadium and a London club.

Potter is a midlands man

RVN wouldn't even be in the conversation had he not been given a temp gig at Man Utd. Is beating us enough to justify him? lol

We spoke to him in the summer didn't we? What he did at PSV should not be underestimated. A club like us is trying to get an extremely talented manager at the start of their careers who can quickly get results and possibly over achieve. It's the logical route if you are willing to take risks.
