Whoever it is will need funds in January. The summer recruitment was appalling and now with Fatawu out we have such a lack of quality

A winger (possibly on loan,) a striker and an LB essential in the window.

Back in for Ioannidis again?

I suspect that the club have someone lined up and we'll know within 24 hours, but it looks nailed on to be one of the above barring absolutely stellar secrecy from the club.

In truth no one has a clue!

Amazing that people are turning their noses up at Moyes. He's by far the most qualified person for the job.

I wouldn't be excited by Moyes but as you say he's probably the right man for it. Wouldn't guarantee us survival by any means but would feel in safe hands.

Football fans nowadays want a young "project" manager who plays expansive football but I don't think we'd necessarily suit that right now. Get a Moyes type to steady the ship for a couple of seasons and then look to progress.

Potter or Moyes I'd be okay with, not exciting but solid. RVN is a no from me, though. One relatively unsuccessful year in charge of PSV where he was disliked by the players. Not the man for the current situation IMHO.

This is why I lean towards Moyes. His recruitment at West Ham was generally good. Bowen, Zouma, Soucek, Coufal all signed under him.

Moyes clearly good manager but will we warm to the football. Probably can get the best out of our players. Probably not long term manager.

Potter did really great at Brighton, some say not so well at Chelsea but I didn't think he was that bad there. Do we have the players for his style without investment and with that element of risk. Probably one for the long term at the cost of short term.

Flip a coin

If cooper had a modicum of tactical nouse and we’d got another 7 points  despite playing dire football then we’d put up with it because we know we’re in a period of transition where the club has to stay in the prem.

if moyes comes and does that then so be it

I would be happy with either Moyes or Potter (preference is Potter) - would not want RVN.

Moyes would give us the organisation and discipline we’ve not seen and Potter would get us playing, whichever it is needs to do both.

Would take that. Won’t be lovely football but there will be a clear plan and structure at least and he won’t play this awful high full back shite.

I enjoyed watching west ham with him.  Wouldn’t turn my nose up at moyes at all

I don't think it was just the negative approach from Cooper that irked the fans. There was nothing to suggest the players were even training together in the week when you watched us play. Even defense minded managers you will see patterns of play and tactical nous. Cooper had nothing

Probably playing them off against each other to put pressure on the preferred target for a quick decision?

Would suggest Potter given his alleged dithering in the summer that led to the appointment of Cooper.

Whoever we get I can guarantee that half of the fans will hate him within 10 games whether we play the ‘proper’ way (ie. Potter) or the defensive way (ie. Moyes).

Because it’s seems like the country and the world our fans have split into two unrecognisable groups and will never be happy (even if we’re being successful ie. Enzo).

Honestly couldn't tell you the last time the majority of foxestalk was happy about ANYTHING.

Another situation where those in charge don't really seem to know exactly what they want or are prepared for eventualities. Look at Brighton for example- appoint Potter, De Zerbi and Hurzeler. Three promising coaches who will more than likely attract attention from bigger clubs so are looking around constantly for the next one. We either give managers too long and are then left with an uninspiring short term choice, then go for a promising manager who does well then seem surprised he might want to move on before appointing a risky manager and have to act within six months (probably 12 months earlier than they would like).

We just look so far behind on all this stuff. Just appoint a manager and hope they aren't too bad or good enough to be poached so we don't have to make decisions.

Didn’t potter turn it down because he wanted a new director of football? If that’s still the case then that surely rules him out as there’s no way rudkin leaves.

He's just become my number one target
