Ruud struggling.

But our defensive options are the same ones who got relegated, with the likes of good PL players Barnes, Tielemans, Maddison playing in the team in front of them

What's chance does this squad have.

For what it's worth, I do have some contacts within football, unfortunately linked to forest....from what they've said, all the press releases before Tottenham about RVN wanting to walk were all true, he's fuming that he's not been backed and is having to do it with this squad. The complication is he was hand picked by Top so Top is heavily invested in this one. It all sounds like it's a bit of shit show behind closed doors and no one really knows what the right thing to do is, spend v consolidate etc.

Just passing on what they have said, recognise its 3rd hand from people in the game at another club.

This why I think Ruud will walk he is a proud man and will not suffer fools and being given false promises, he can save his reputation by walking and be open and honest as to the complete shit show of a club we have become.

if he clings on he is only damaging his own reputation and what’s the point in that especially when it’s to protect a board not fit for purpose, a DoF out of his depth and a rancid squad of players who don’t want to take a shred of responsibility and accountability for the results and performances.

It's all a bit Brendan now, wants out feels like he's been lied to, but is being convinced to stay on when his hearts not in it. Only difference is he's a complete novice and it's showing

He has to go, it's all on these charlatans.

It all just sounds very messy, he's angry he's been lied to and wants out, Top is aware of the optics of sacking 2 managers in 20 odd games, especially one he hand picked.... as you can imagine there is no plan for what if ruud isn't very good, we are very much scrambling here, and who the hell is willingly going to a club that from the outside is operating like Watford ha

I would imagine it must be on Ruuds mind walking out on 2 clubs in a row isn't a good look and as much as it would be great if he did and then took shots at Rudkin/Top etc. I can't imagine if he wants a management career taking shots at owners and DoFs after 2 walk outs is going to get your career on track...you become a bit of a marked man with nothing to back it up so teams will just stay well clear, plenty of other managers out there.

It's honestly such a mess, I'm finding it really hard to have any positivity at all, it must be pushing even the happiest of happy clappers to the brink

Ruud talked to Enzo prior to joining us, Enzo told him it's a great club etc, but didn't mention to him crucially the board lies... would he have joined in the first place if the board lies? I doubt it, it's all on Ruud to walk he's well within his right.

But we could try to change out tactics.

Play a low block to negate our lack of speed.

Play 3 cb's with wingbacks to sure up the defence.

Play counter attack football.

But no we roll out 4231 without the personnel. Play a high line and tic tac pass it around and wonder why we concede 3 goals a game.

Clearly been stitched up and I don’t think anyone at all would blame him if he walked away.

But as others have said, doing it to 2 clubs in a row probably isn’t gonna help him long-term.

I can actually see him staying until the end of the season, then walking away and taking shots at the board. That would actually show him in quite a good light.

It really does go to show the absolute calamity that is happening at board level. From the second Enzo left, they’ve been winging it. Granted, him leaving wasn’t expected and they weren’t expecting to make a managerial appointment for a couple of years, but my God, Cooper!! Now Ruud!!

It’s so sad that the legacy of King power ownership that should’ve been enshrined forever as a positive memory in the clubs history, is inevitably going to come to an end in the darkest possible way.

I'll give Ruud the benefit of the doubt on this occasion, it does seem odd Enzo didn't tell him.

However, any manager now coming in has had fair warning.  You cannot believe a word of what is said about transfers.

Brian Barry-Murphy is likely the contingency and next seasons manager should Ruud go?

Two first names is tough on the fans. Definite mentions of this Barry bloke, Barry Murphy and Brian Murphy on the way.

Whilst they ultimately still lost, although that goal ruled out to equaliser was ridiculous, Villa made 4 changes at half time. That decision not to make changes is not a manager who's got the motivation to battle here.

I was saying to my Dad, wonder what the reaction would be if he made changes after 25 minutes pulling ayew for mav, facundo or kacey because it was clear from then, it wasn't working

If this is correct he's not doing his future prospects any good by staying and basically throwing in the towel which is  what it looked like yesterday.  A strong manager would have taken off both centre backs after 6 minutes. I can't imagine how Alex Ferguson would have reacted to that first half performance but he sure as hell wouldn't have made zero subs at half time or even before.
