It’s ridiculous, because I wouldn’t say these players are exactly working hard either. 
 

The Spurs game at the start of the season - they worked their socks off to stay in the game and got the reward for that - but I can’t imagine our high intensity sprints over the season are anywhere near where they need to be if we’re to overcome a skill deficit.

 

And our setup - it’s all about how “we want to play” even though that’s not exactly successful in itself.

 

I’ve yet to see Ruud or Cooper deploy a system that’s targeted a key aspect from the opposition’s attacking play in order to combat that threat OR on the flip side, target an area of weakness in the opposition’s defence.

 

And using formation ‘rotations’ the way we are, when you’re defensively suspect and don’t command the ball for long periods - is suicide.

 

We end up altering our shape and wonder why we’re all over the shop on turnovers.

 

For me, getting a tune out of this squad requires two obvious things - a basic shape and defensive / attacking plans and picking players that will run hard.

He needs to go unfortunately. We have no chance of staying up with him. Poor appointment from the board. We need a manager for the trenches, the fact 4 teams have a low points total means there is some hope but not with Ruud at the helm.

Ruud isn’t the biggest problem at the club, it’s getting harder to defend him, but equally it’s hard to be heavily critical given the recruitment / squad / disconnection with fans

He isn’t wrong. The squad is shit and every game is a battle but he doesn’t help himself with his selection. At least make it look like you’re half arsed about trying to get a win instead of playing the same shit lineup and formation week in, week out when it hasn’t worked since he’s been here.

 

He’s out of his depth and hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing.

His record is appalling and it’s impossible to defend starting the front three of Vardy, Ayer and De Cordova Reid but nonetheless I don’t think any manager could keep this squad. Poor signings on long and lucrative are where the blame lies for the shit show that we now are

His record is surely unsurvivable.

 

We are going down, and if he stays then this run continues and probably continues into next season too.

Way bigger problems than Ruud.

 

Can only play with the hand you're dealt and the squad he has is ****ing laughable. 

 

That said, he has to give himself a chance and change systems to get something going in the attack.

Hasn't a clue. Our defence 1st half was 15 yards higher than it needed to be. Brentford just played over the top and were quicker to the ball. Needs to go. He is worse than Taylor.

It’s got the feel of the end of Rodgers reign, going through the motions with insipid team selections just waiting for the board to have the balls to sack him. He’s had the aura of a man on death row for a couple weeks now

 

We are down regardless but do the board want to at least have a go at survival or are they happy to sleep walk into oblivion again?

Unfortunately he didn’t start with many ideas. The squad is abysmal but he’s up there with the worst manager we’ve had in 50 years - absolutely super shite
