The most depressing thing compared to this time ten years ago is that when we started the Great Escape under Pearson at the start of April we already had 22 points (and even with that thought we were probably doomed!), with 17 come the start of this April when we face Man City at the Etihad then there really is no hope this time, especially with this squad!!

they really didn't, they had a lot of long range pops but very few chances of real significance

Sorry but West Ham hit the woodwork against us and Coady literally cleared one off the line. They should have scored more than 1. Even his only two lucky wins have been lucky as fvck. Nice win over Spurs' B team.

Not that I care now. He has proven to be one of the worse managers we've ever had.

the point remains they didn't batter us by any stretch, they had a high shot count but created very few chances of significance, we very much deserved a result that game. feel free to go present your vibes based argument to someone else.

It’s a bit who blinks first in terms of us saving money not sacking him and RVN walking to try and save his reputation.

In any case the key is the clear out.  I don’t even mind sitting mid table next year if there is a proper plan to get rid of 80% of the current squad and play some of the youth.

Just continuing with him and the manner in which this season has been handled has to be the worst of the lot (so far) under the Top regime.

Could just about understand the decision around the lack of spending in 2022 despite letting Kasper go and the late Fofana sale (buying Faes as a panic buy to replace an absolute rolls Royce defender in Fofana harder to accept but fine).

The Bennett, Congerton decisions were stupid but fine, some reasoning behind it perhaps.

The summer of 2021 with Soumare and Daka coming in, young players with potential perhaps.

The decision to acquire Vestegaard, Bertrand and Glover from failing Southampton - stupid and delusional but maybe some thinking behind it - being kind.

Retaining Rodgers for too long - some loyalty,

Retaining Rudkin to date - some loyalty.

But this season, our season being over in February. With two failing managers. One allowed to have a streak of defeats in double figures, no goals at home and easy games for multiple opposition teams takes the ultimate piss. If anyone asks why in a few years Top is selling his ass to fund his cuckold adventures with the pool boy and his Mrs and where it all went wrong, this is the season to highlight his incompetence.

This man should be gone just out of respect to the badge. Cannot stand that he is still here.

It is genuinely staggering how much of a mess they've made of this season. As bad as some of the previous ones were, you can sort of see how they happened. Series of bad events.

This one they've had every warning they could possibly want. They've already had the relegation kick up the arse, they've already had the PSR debacle and only got away with it through a technicality. My problem is it seems that bouncing back up, and the docked points avoidance are probably treated within the club as vindication for what they do. They are that pig ignorant of everything going on around them. They will not realise the mess we are headed for until we're there. Not a perceptive bone in any of their bodies.

To actually serve up a season of two terrible appointments, numerous terrible value for money signings after being given the biggest warning and get out of jail free card there is tells me everything about them. We are doomed until they go.

How bad truly can this get? I'd say it's almost certain now that Aiyawatt leaves the club below where they found us. Given the jolts we've had in that period, that is a truly astonishing fumble. One of the worst ever.

how is that going to happen? mostly garbage players on huge money. the only shit player i can see going would be faes, the rest will probably leave on a free

Would be good

Strasbourg are doing brilliantly and have a good chance of getting into Europe, possibly even the CL. Why would he want to go back to the Championship?

Simply stating he’d be a good appointment rather than realism. However he won’t hang around at Strasbourg as they are a Chelsea satellite club.

We could have got him for nothing when Hull sacked him, instead of Cooper.

Club is run by idiots.

I don't think we can seriously argue the toss over one game when the numbers are this bad.

Notwithstanding the recent poor running of the club, we are the worst we have ever been by every metric.

That's not vibes, that's stats. Goals scored, goals conceded, points, wins, xG, second balls - Ruud is presiding over some of the worst stats in our history.

and I've not argued against any of that? we're talking specifically about one game. I do not see why it's necessary to discredit the one game he's actually done well in, rather than state that many managers have had a good first game and been crap afterwards (Hell, iirc Holloway was our first manager to win his debut game in like 4 decades). Instead it's apparently important to claim he's been bad for 100% of his games rather than 95% of them.
