King Power are already out.

Everything is under Top’s name as of 2019 according to Companies House.

Someone needs to want to buy us. Looking at a relegation and a transfer imbargo we aren't a massively tempting prospect.

i would imagine there is zero chance anyone buys us and invests more than king power will.

Be nice if they did, but it’s highly unlikely

Even worse

Top alone doesn’t have a scooby

A lot of discussion over whether someone would put more money in - but it’s largely irrelevant not least because of FFP. The reason we have no money to spend is because of our grossly incompetent director of football.

We’ve pushed our financial limits to still be useless anyway. A decent DoF would have ensured a better squad with half of what Rudkin has pissed up the wall on fees and wages. It’s clear Top won’t sack him therefore has to go. We’re on a slow downward spiral without change.

I actually don’t want this club to have ‘more money’. If done correctly, buying low and selling high is all we ever need plus the plans to expand the stadium and continue to break the established elite

You know, basically what Vichai was doing

Quite the contrary if you have a look of the exec make up of the KP group, they’ve assembled some incredible bright business minds in Thailand - all have “earned” their position rather than having it handed to them because they offer a great BJ. No unwarranted senior positions for family members. Even siblings are placed in “assistant” position to learn off these senior, talented individuals to ensure the business maintains growth,

His treatment of LCFC is lazy and downright disrespectful but he smiles at a couple of people on his way to his seat so is a “nice guy”.

Very interesting, but what a shame, why would he want it that way, it makes no sense? Whilst not necessarily a huge money earner compared to their other business empire, the right transfer and scouting, the right board (who should also have to continually prove their) and his almost ruthless stewardship of the same, like his father, would potentially be a lot more successful, profitable and less hassle. The allowing the club to get in such mess with FFP on it's own shows gross incompetence for which heads should roll! I can't see Vichai having to put up with that!

Why wouldn’t they? It’s not even 5 years ago we were best of the rest and finishing in European spots, as well as winning pots. Surely anyone interested in buying Everton would be interested in buying us? A competent board with an infrastructure to match could have seen us as Europa league regulars.

Saudi bankrolled Newcastle despite being bottom of the league, maybe we won’t like the source of the interest ie Saudi sportswashers but I struggle to believe that if Top was to put the club on the market we’d struggle for suitors

Tend to agree.

We have a stadium that's filled to capacity every week and fully developed plans to extend, a worldwide profile from recent successes, training facilities that are Champions League standard if they were run properly and could produce a veritable conveyor belt of talent and, crucially, we are in the Premier League already.

Contrast us with the likes of Derby and Coventry and you'll see that we would be a far more attractive proposition. Newcastle weren't exactly an attractive prospect themselves before The Beheaders bought them given they had regular protests, a grossly unpopular boss in charge, chronic underinvestment and were as far off challenging for honours and Europe as we are now. If not further.

Yeah. Just because we can't name someone at the drop of a hat doesn't mean buyers wouldn't be out there. It's the same line of defense as the "what managers are out there" (there are always plenty).

There are plenty of very wealthy business owners, consortia and organisations out there and the Premier League is a globally recognised product. Given our city's connection to the subcontinent through our multicultural population, I actually wouldn't be surprised if an Indian investor were to become interested in us.

Doesn’t matter if someone comes in and buys the club, PSR has ruined the chance for us and any smaller rich club to compete by spending. Even Newcastle can’t spend!

You can do still do well in the environment with shrewd spending and contract negotiations.

We have a higher wage bill than Forest who are currently top 4, scrapped most analytics, and clearly have inadequate scouting, there is always bargain aisle to sign up untapped stars, and then its about squad management, getting rid of players surplus to requirements.

Its not a fairy tale, other clubs are doing it.  People need to accept the club leadership is a bombshell right now.  Problem is cultural at this point.

Data data data

Brighton/brentford/bournmouth are run on data modeling by truly exceptional brains, who hire the right people to ensure club operations are all focused on results and improving players

Tony Bloom at Brighton is one of the globes

great risk managers, his gambling is legendary and now he is playing moneyball in the premier league to huge success, he is a data genius

Top is sadly a rich kid who has no skills and very little ideas, he is a clueless passenger on a train crash , he keeps a supermarket builder in Susan employed and retains a man in Rudkin who is basically a butler with a director title

we are stuff under Top’s ownership and until we force him out that petulant man-child will continue to grind this club into the ground

Sadly the majority of the support seem ambivalent to the madness and forcing Top out will continue to be a joke

100% this.

There will be a fair few more USA-backed acquisitions of clubs over the next 5 years, we would be likely one of those being looked given the physical infrastructure.
Until then unfortunately the current culture will be allowed to fester on.

Totally correct from beginning to end, not Cooper the "fall guy's" fault or Ruvanis when he fails, entirely on Top and Rudkin.

Certain passages stand out for me

"Club officials were reportedly impressed by his playing career, reputation and “aura”, not least during the two games Leicester visited Old Trafford during his interim stint."

By club officials he obviously means Rudkin, as l've commented before, this appointment was based on his playing career his appearance and beating us!

Rooney has been appointed by other like minded fools multiple times and how has that gone?

Another passage "There’s a fair argument that any Premier League manager starting Ward in goal in 2024 deserves whatever follows."

Not so much the pointing out that Ward is - as we have seen every time he plays - utterly incompetent but what it says about Van Nistelrooy who selected him TWICE!

But lots on here find excuses for him for precisely the same reasons the half wits in charge of the club appointed him!

Great article from a man with no axe to grind.

So it's not so much a case of would we be better off with a new owner, if we hope to compete in the EPL ever again we MUST have a new owner because frankly the present one is on a par with Rudkin and Ward.

If top stays long enough, either Lampard or Rooney will be manager at some point. :jawdrop:

He's got the ability to do this of a randomer on here with the reputation of being elite. It's as dangerous a combination as you can possibly have.

There is a difference. At KP Top is what he is, a little boy who won the sperm race. The business has the interest of the wider family and therefore won’t have the incompetence of the little boy run riot. He will also not be treated like a god like some of this fan base by his mother for example. Therefore, there is far more checks with the main business.

He is a problem and not some maverick billionaire that he/some like to think he is. The unfortunate thing is, until we realise this collectively and follow fan bases like Newcastle, Wolves and Everton and demand some change, we’ll be treated like the idiots we are, due to the simpletons in our fan base,

I have an awful feeling that they'll appoint Russell Martin when we go down.

Club *needs* a massive purge. Owners, leadership, contracts and many "fans". KP has the vibe of a morgue. It may take some time at lower levels. It'll be a price worth paying.

Owners made one tramsformative decision (Pearson) and one completely irrational fluke (Ranieri) in their time in charge. [Minor credit: Puel/Macia could spot a player.] Don't give me Rodgers: he took on a p**s easy job. We're still surfing the dregs of Pearson's wave FGS. For me, the current KP regime have no credit in the bank at all.

[FWIW I expect the inevitable Rudkin sacrifice is imminent. I doubt that'll change anything.]

Lol.. I can believe in Santa, still not sure about the tooth fairy and black shuck but l can't believe that even our clueless, gullable fool of an owner would employ either of those professional losers!
