I think deep down we all know where this season is headed. You look at the table and try and think which teams are worse than us and sadly other than Ipswich and Soton there aren't any. Those in and around us (Wolves, Everton, Palace) are all comfortably better sides than we are. As we enter into the Jan transfer window I think we have to be pragmatic here and question the sense in throwing good money after bad and potentially setting ourselves up for financial ruin and a hefty points deduction.

I'm not saying we don't look at full backs and maybe another winger but apart from that we really need to be sensible here and ask ourselves is it worth throwing more money at what is ever increasingly looking like a lost cause

Next season we have reason to be hopeful with Fattawu back....Daka starting....Bilal, Okoli will do well in the Championship and get Stolarcyzk back in goal.

This is just my thoughts....we're not flush...we are already sailing close to the wind re FFP so does it make sense to jeopardize the next 4-5 seasons just for this?

Realistically we are looking at selling Mads for as much as possible, finding a decent affordable replacement and using the excess funds to improve elsewhere.

EFL will no doubt come after us big style when we go down, and our record in January windows is hardly stellar. The board have got a big call to make. Shit or bust or bring in players who’ll stick around for the championship. Problem is they are so incompetent they’ll actually choose neither of those things and anyone we get in will not help us this year and end up away on loan next, because that’s what our shitshow of a club does.

The only way we stay up is if they relegated Man City with Ipswich and Southampton. Mads is off to Chelsea in January and RVN won't last the season. I've said several times before on this forum that if we do go down then it's a straight drop to league one at the end of next season, points deduction or not.

We are frighteningly abysmal.

Goodnight Vienna, it was good while it lasted.

Unfortunately, what planning can you do? It will be damage limitation. We’re headed for a colossal disaster, the points deduction from the EFL will no doubt relegate us. So we’re heading straight into a black hole.

What we need to do is ensure we’re not then going to get hammered by the EFL when we drop into league one. So really we need to strip the squad down to the bare bones, anyone who is worth selling sell, and any of the dead wood just sell at a major loss…..

It is then a case of trying to rebuild the club from the ground up slowly.

We all know that we are ****ed, so the club may as well just accept this as a fact, if Top has a pair he will sack Rudkin and Susan and just look to rebuild the club with good football people, and the full focus on the academy, and signing young players with a sell on value.

Top needs to employ some advisors, some sound advisors so we can get back on track. We’re going to have to take what’s coming to us, as a fan base it’s an utter disgrace and we deserve better, but the damage is done…. It’s like cutting your leg of and then going to the doctors a week later to have it reattached.

The club needs to be gutted. We'll be starting on a points deduction for sure because there is no way the EFL will be happy with us.

We need a total reset of the club's mentality. Get rid of Rudkin and Whelan.

Can the EFL actually punish us for a rule we broke under the premier league jurisdiction.

We blatantly spent too much in 23/24.

If getting relegated is going to be a major disaster then we are better off planning for this season. We are 4th bottom remember, not adrift by 10 points. Let’s make a fist of it by buying some decent players and getting a manager in who plays our best players with some decent tactics. The idea that no one could keep this club up is false. There’s a plethora of examples of teams looking terrible and improving markedly with a couple of good signings and a manager who knows what he’s doing.

If you’re saying that’s never going to happen I agree with you, the people who run our club are hopeless. But they won’t plan well for next season either. So given the choice I’d rather go for it and try and stay up.

Despite the fact it feels like we are certain for relegation, the reality of it happening is scary.

We genuinely are knackered as a club. We have no identity or model which makes us sustainable. We still pay too much on wages. Average players (at best) earning those high wages. Our recruitment overall has been poor for a while. Luckily we should generate some money from Mads but beside that, are there many others? We've not really utilised our youth setup, which for a club of our size and stature is criminal.

Without sounding like a broken record and repeating what many have already said - whilst those who are currently running the club are here (Rudkin, Wheelan etc..) nothing will change. If anything we will continue to decline further and further. Nevermind the Jamie Vardy story or our historic league title, there'll be a documentary into the decline of Leicester City in a couple of years time!

I genuinely don't see any changes happening. They'll happily kick along in the same way.

We can all see the issues and the solutions, but there is no evidence from the past to suggest anything will be done.

I'm hoping we stay up by some miracle transfer window, but there is little chance of anything good coming from that whilst we have the same people in charge.

Maybe if we are a total disaster and the stadium ends up half full, reality may kick in for Top that the whole thing needs an overhaul. Too little too late.

I’d be willing to give Stolarczyk a run if it meant using the funds in other areas that would 100% need the investment more.

The problem is even if we do spend, are we going to get any quality. We spent 80M in the summer and the team looks worse. The whole clubs rotten, from top (no pun intended)  to bottom. I welcomed relegation last time if it meant we reset and rebuilt, but we've done neither.

When we get the points deduction next season, it’ll get to a point where the national media will finally wake up to how poorly run we are. Maybe then our fans will wake up to it too. That’s the only silver lining.

I don’t think some realise the trouble we will be in when we go down…… we’re going to be in a proper mess, and the points deduction will certainly see us instantly relegated.

We will finish below Wolves and Ipswich, which means we are done…… it really is terrifying to think where we are going to be in a few years………

It’s why I get livid with this fanbase. There’s zero passion and then when we end up in the state you describe, everyone will look at each other like oh how’s that happended.

The club are heading down, feels pretty inevitable.  But this time it's different. There was a quick fire Enzo project we chanced that worked remarkably well in the end. That ship then sailed pretty damn quickly.

The squad lacks quality, is nowhere near prem battle hardened ready.  Legacy issues still remain on a number of players and throw in poor recruitment it's probably the worst we have experienced as a squad for a long time.

This time questions will be posed of hierarchical personnel you would expect and the will of the owners will be part of that assessment. Has Top and KP reached or reaching a natural conclusion to the Leicester story, possibly?

Feels like this time will be a drains up and clear out. The premise will be an instant return of course but behind the scenes will be the reality of a transition.

Some will say it's too early for that talk but unless the club gamble and throw £100m + at the problem in January which is almost certainly unlikely, you can't polish a turd.

Ruud himself you would think will be given the choice of staying or being allowed to walk away. He may be a novice still but he hasn't built this current crop.

Personally unless a fair bit of money is spent on decent recruitment this window, we are Championship bound and will be there for a fair few seasons, at which point KP will probably sell up.

Ipswich look terrible this year but without doubt have an incredible chance of coming back up with their squad. I think Saints also will be ok now the clown in change has gone.

We look like a garage sale will happen and could see us drop down again….for quite some time like Pompey did.

Let me translate, we sell a decent keeper having been only at the club 18-24 months WTF!!, and replacing him with trash on inflated wages.

Our transfer policy is hideous.  It is hard to start becoming a fan of any players, as all the good ones are now only here 5 minutes, because we incapable of getting rid of squad players.

Not alone in my thoughts, spoke to a friend recently who previously was positive about our squad, liked our owners, and he just came out with it, the club is run so badly.  We cant progress until we have a new owner in all likelihood.  Thats the reality.  Until them enjoy watching us fumble along, initially yo yo but eventually established Championship.

Should we survive this season, selling Mads sends all the wrong messages, and is not a sign of a club on a upward projectile, we would be relegated the following season with Ward in goal.
