You couldn’t make it up, he’s clueless isn’t he?

I think it's becoming increasingly clear that he's just thick.

So are his underlings.

Yes very true and he won’t remove them, so it’s only going to go one way which is relegation again.

We're done as a football club, aren't we :(

What a sad time to be supporting us. Run into the ground through sheer incompetence.

RVN really didn’t do his due diligence did he? Enzo probably told him a bunch of crap he knew what was has happening behind the scenes.

Saying we've been harshly treated sounds like we know we're being targeted by the PL but deep down we know we screwed up. And are just doubling down on being 'privately confident'.

Private enough to leak to the press, right lol

Relegation just feels more and more likely right now.

The team needs a boost from somewhere and in front think it's going to come.

Looking at the potential cost of the Eduard deal is a shocker and we're lumbered with him by the looks of it.

Why does this feel like an after thought surely we should of done a chelsea and sold this asset or transferred it a long time ago to comply. We dont need 2 training grounds.

We don't need two clubs and the expense of running a ladies team in the WSL either.

Doesn’t help to sell an asset for what it’s already in the books for. You get 10m cash in and have to lose 10m from your assets.  Chelsea were able to make a lot because what they sold was massively undervalued in their books.

we could sell our ladies team based I doubt that has much value against it but we’d have to justify the amount. Chelsea are one of the best women’s teams in the world with players of value. they can make a good case to justify the price.  I reckon we probably could have generated 10m profit on a sale of the womens team but no one thought of it and we’d then lose the ability to make a big deduction each season against the running costs of the women’s team.  Chelsea have also lost that but the sale cost kicks the can down the road for enough years that they expect psr to not exist by the time it would become a negative for them.

So let's say we've breached Psr and given 6pts deduction. We're relegated. So we're done with the premier league for years, in my opinion.

So we know we are going down to championship where we'll have a points deduction, a business plan enforced and more to note, a transfer embargo. So, we won't be ae to buy players and we'll obviously sell our stars who will be picked off. Vards leave. I'm guessing Mads, Winks, Ndidi, Soumare, maybe Skipp, Fatawu, Ricardo, etc leave. We basically are forced to use what's left with starting point of minus points.

So why not screw PSR, sign players when we can now, talented youngsters from around the leagues on long contracts and build a team for next season?

Or does the transfer embargo get lifted if get money from sales?

Also if the club are 'confident' they haven't breached, why haven't there been more rumours/movement on signings. The lack of rumours suggest to me there's doubt and this troubling

Wolves and Ipswich are confident as they've made signings. Why aren't we looking at loans from abroad? The whole operation stinks of ineptitude

I think the issue is that after relegation we would be put on a financial plan, which would involve selling any sellable asset and / or loaning them out. When Leeds went down, see how many players they had to sell or just loan out for the season. Last time we went up, we had the highest wage bill in Championship history. If this time round it's halved, AND there's a points deduction AND an embargo... it's probably playoffs in season one at best.

Leeds had to do that because of the clauses in the contracts, not because the EFL had enforced any such restraints due to PSR.

You would like to think that whilst we were paying for the services of De Marko, we used a bit of foresight to see where we were heading this year? Which is why we might be saying we’re confident.

To be honest, I think the PL will chance it and charge us regardless, just so we have our day in court so to speak.

Would the EFL still have the ability to punish us next season if we are punished this season?

If they aren't then I would rather we just got it over with so we have a clean slate next season. We've got a big rebuild to do and a lot of swamp water to drain.

Yes. Hence why we are totally ****ed if we go down, it’s not quite as simple as a lot of people seem to think.

I think you might be underestimating the strength of the championship. Mid table at best I reckon

Ok that's good to know. How does the plan work though? Because my guess is that they will say "revenues = 30M, wage bill = 60M. You need to cut the wage bill by 30M", and then force us to do that.

Oh yes, even more of a certainty with that one

This is what I don't get. How can we get done by both the PL and EFL for 23/24? We were only under one jurisdiction surely?
