Why are The Times and other outlets still peddling this narrative that "Leicester are at risk for 22-23 following a legal case"? We won it already? It's an absolute farce how the PL think they can drag that year out...get over it, you got DONE.

…because the PL are appealing.

PSR is going to end up being replaced, I think.

It's hated by most fans, inherently anti-competitive and riddled with loopholes that means clubs with deep pockets, crafty business practices and clever lawyers can get around them while honest clubs just trying to comply with the spirit of the rules suffer.

Just get rid and change it so owners have to put a bond in place of say 5 years worth of accounts, so if they do go bust etc. the club will still be safe.

On what grounds? We've literally already established we played by THEIR rules. Case closed.

I think they genuinely just said "it's not really in the spirit of the rules"

I think the PL were just trying to save face a bit, but internally they know they have dropped a clanger.

Nothing says we made these rules up on the fly with no real consideration other than to protect the big clubs like all the loopholes and sloppy legal text thats being identified.

One of the major problems with PSR are mid season announcements and punishment in season. Could this not simple be lined up with end of the season and any punishment established and imposed before the start of the next one?

That would be terrible, no?

Breach the rules, gain a sporting advantage that you ‘shouldn’t’ have and stay up/get Europe and then only get punished after the fact when you’ve already gained from the ‘cheating?’

Full Premier League quote confirming this:

the premier league just need to admit they didnt make the rules as clear cut as they could have, its frankly on them;

amazing how they go full gung ho with this yet the loophole with Chelsea flogging assets to themselves is just brushed off

Seems so but how do other clubs get away with it ?

Bournemouth?

Forest ?

Forest breached and took a punishment last season.

But are other clubs 'getting away' with anything, or complying with rules. We can see that there strategic transfers happening to get through the current rules. Whether or not this is sustainable in the long term is debatable.

yeah they are appealing the one from earlier this season, where we found a loophole, even tho thats the PL fault for not closing or noticing said loophole

its on them for that as Di Marco etc showed

other teams close, would be everton, chelsea, forest, Newcastle, Villa youd think

Wait so we can still be punished this season if PL win appeal?

The appeal is based upon the relegation season so I don't know when any punishment would apply.

I guess they would try this season on the basis it was the first available after our promotion. Even if their appeal is successful, we would then appeal the punishment, whatever/whenever that was and it wouldn't be sorted before next season.

This is a three year cycle. The sporting advantage could have been 2 years ago. But you could sanction by removing European spots etc.

Surely there is a limit on how many appeals can happen otherwise it’ll just be back and forth.
