Yeah, what sort of morons buy players from Championship clubs? Imagine if we were stupid enough to go even lower in the football pyramid and sign players from like, League Two!? We should stick to what made us truly succesful and only go and buy expensive players from some of Europe's biggest clubs. That way we could REALLY guarantee their quality. 44 8 17

Signing players for the Championship means we’ll have a squad that looks right at home in the Championship. It’s a flawed strategy. I can’t believe how pathetic our attempts to stay up have been. We might sign players from lower in the pyramid and hope they can step up, but there is always a significant risk that they won't. There is, however, a risk with any transfer strategy. Personally I'd have much more sympathy with this approach, if it goes wrong, than some of the other, more recent, strategies. We've signed ageing players from Premier League clubs who were only ever mediocre at their absolute peaks. We knew their ceilings when we signed them and the benefit was only ever likely to be short term (i.e. get rid of them when we were established in the prem or be stuck with them in the Championship). With this approach there is at least at chance that we could progress with them in the PL but, if not, we've got proven Championship performers.
Number 6 Posted 6 January 2025 Posted 6 January 2025 I like him but I feel like we'd be better off buying a big bastard. Not enough physicality in this side and someone who could hold the ball up would give us a good outlet. Ruud hasn't been adverse to having two striker on the pitch either, so a big strong physical striker could work well alongside Vardy. 2
Muzzy_no7 Posted 6 January 2025 Posted 6 January 2025 I’m really not sure about this one. Could do with a more complete forward tbh.
FoxesWalk Posted 7 January 2025 Posted 7 January 2025 I really liked him when I saw them play last season, type of player we should have been going for in the summer imo
jonah Posted 7 January 2025 Posted 7 January 2025 So we are 7 days into the transfer window, lost 5 in a row 2nd from bottom and we have decide we are perhaps "interested " in someone....but havnt made a bid 🤷♂️🤷♂️🫤🤔 1

I like Weghorst, think he’d be great down here, also mirroring the title winning team, 4-4-1-1 with Celtic player Maida behind Vardy ala Shinji.
LCFCCKEANO Posted 7 January 2025 Posted 7 January 2025 I truly don’t understand ‘interested’. If we are, we will have done research and will have an idea if we want him and would be negotiating price surely, if we aren’t negotiating then what does it even mean? Surely has been scouted already, it just feels like the club blowing smoke up our arses through the media whilst scrambling behind the scenes
LCFCCKEANO Posted 7 January 2025 Posted 7 January 2025 Just feels like such a contradictory statement at this stage to be interested in someone without any bid going in, especially someone who isn’t being marketed by their club
JimJams Posted 10 January 2025 Posted 10 January 2025 Would rather we go for Haji Wright tbh. Need that versatility. Scores as many goals too. 2

Lambert09 Posted 12 January 2025 Posted 12 January 2025 Big bid had gone in for him from Atlanta. I’d imagine Boro accept it or it gets fine eventually. real shame that the only club who might have taken Edouard are going to nab someone else

Last season at CF, 13 games 7 goals 3 assists. This season at CF 5 games, 4 goals 1 assist. At LW last season 14 games, 3 goals 3 assists. This season 4 games 3 goals. Lath this season at CF 26 games 10 goals. Last season 30 games 16 goals. Wright has a better record at CF. He also has a better LW record than Mav last season. Not exactly shite. 1

JimJams Posted 12 January 2025 Posted 12 January 2025 IF Boro accept. Selling your playoff/promotion chance really.
