I just cannot see why the **** the club would want to sign a striker that is not an improvement on Tom Cannon especially for that amount of money. Boro maybe 5th but they are a decent mid table championship club. Not 1 of their players are worth over 10 Million not 1.
Ian Nacho Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 So we're set to sign him but we haven't contacted Boro yet?

AKCJ Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 It's a no from me. He's not a £20m improvement on Vardy, Cannon or Daka. Would be a complete waste of money again. 4

fox_favourite Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 (edited) Pop goes another transfer lead. I hope this isn't the start as we mean to go on. I have a horrid feeling it'll be same as last Jan with Enzo Edited 3 January 2025 by fox_favourite

Don't believe every dubious link thrown to us in a window and you won't be dissapointed. 3
CrazyKopCorner Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 Apparently he's mint. My Brother in Law and Nephew, who are smoggies, are not happy as he's their best player apparently. Gerriminyabastards

Am I being too harsh here? What relevance is his career goal per game average? What if he became a really good player at 24? It does happen!
Wymsey Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 The first, aside from Drinkwater, drinks-orientated footballer around?..
ithuriel Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 This has to be drivel, no way Rudders can get anything done fast, he moves at the same pace as someone from Trumpton

A deal such as this (player liked locally for what looks a lowish fee from their point of view) probably hasn’t gone through too many people at that end. 1
ALC Fox Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 It's taken him a while to really hit his straps in his career but he's clearly found a home in English football. He didn't have the best start to this season after a stellar campaign last year, but he's got back to business and when Middlesbrough do well so does he, it seems. We're not fishing in the market of finished products. There's going to be an element of risk with every signing. We need a proper back-up to Vardy now. Daka and Edouard aren't it, so I'm happy to take the risk on someone who's currently in good form. I'm confident he's better than Cannon right now. The two of them will be decent options next season if we go down, but if we stay up we may need to strengthen again in that area.
Pliskin Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 It’s got failure written all over it for me….. just don’t think he’s got what it takes to step up to the premier league.
