The lad's 16 ffs, had only just turned 16 when the season started as well.

 

Will be sold as we can't shift the crap like Vestegaard, Winks and Okoli, and will go on to have a good career, whilst we say oh if only we could have kept him, just like Barnes and KDH.

16-year-old playing in an unprecedentedly bad team populated almost entirely by feckless bellends and devoid of leadership or standards, under the "guidance" of two historically shit managers who had next to no interest in using youth prospects. Restricted to three league starts in 2026 as we instead persisted with Mavididi, who was arguably our worst player all season and managed to beat Monga for goals + assists by just one despite a) playing almost three times as many minutes and b) not being a ****ing schoolboy.

 

Hmm, I wonder why he struggled to stand out and looked sort of demotivated? Mystery.

dont blame the team, he just wasnt/isnt ready and only in the first team squad cos we needed to tie him down

Found it interesting that Thomas picked up a bit with a full back managing him. Maybe Rowett got into him a bit, helped with positional advise and also asked him to cut back a bit on his alcohol intake.

Kristiansen is far worse than Thomas imo. Not neither are any good tbh.

We know that Monga that Thomas/ Kristiansen behind him, but he’s shown nothing, not even some fleecing moments within a match, to suggest he going to realise the talent, he’s obviously got!

I know the squad got some serious issues, but I would have expected him to shine a little more then he has.

Na, you can think Thomas is bad whilst appreciating others have been worse.

 

Thomas has at least had good games for us, albeit not often enough and has had some contributions going forward. Not saying it’s anywhere near enough but Kristiansen has done literally nothing whilst being as poor defensively when he has on the odd occasion, made himself available to play. And he cost something like £17mill!

 

McGivern we were at a different level as a club and expectations but yeah also poor. Probably the worst 3 either way.
 

Oh for a Fuchs or Berner type now….even Powell. Those kind of characters.

Selling Monga and loaning him back might be possible. He's 17 over the summer and starting 10-20 games in L1 will be good for him, the new club and us as we'll need the depth

Loan fees are usually nominal - we won’t be selling him for any less than say, £2m (likely much more)
