RedSoxUK Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Wonder how much it would take to get Che Adams from Torino, 7m - 10m? Not sure he would want to come back though.
Claudio Fannieri Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 If RM does come in wouldn’t be surprised to see us make a move for Carl Rushworth from Brighton. 2

AjcW Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 (edited) I was wondering whether or not to suggest a new LB, as not sure we needed one, but with Martin looking likely I think we do. Harry Toffolo didn't get a kick until the end of the season but came in and did brilliantly for Forest in his 5 appearances. He's available on a free and has always been decent in the Championship. Daughter goes to the same nursery as his, he's been linked to Cov and i'd say likely wants to stay in the area due to having 3 school age kids. Think he'd be a good shout on a free! Was at Norwich with Martin too. Edited 27 May 2025 by AjcW 2

Scotch Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 If RM comes in and plans to play this inverted FB palaver... Ricardo makes most sense inverting from RB. JJ at LB tucking in and possibly someone linked Mason Holgate of a free who is a CB that can play RB or maybe that Tuanzabe fella from Ipswich who is the same.

Holgate on a free would be up there with spending £20m on Ahmed Musa as one of the worst deals we've ever done. That's how bad he is. 1 3

Merchant_Banker Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Assuming we sell Hermansen and get rid of the players who don't seem to wanto be here (Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen, Ndidi and Winks) and hopefully convincing BEK to stay for another season then we would have the situation below. I have not included Golding and Coulibaly since they have only had a few minutes in the first team or any of the players that haven't had much game time on loan, e.g. Braybrooke. That leaves us needing 2 goalkeepers, 1 left back and 2 centre midfielder. Of course, it's worse than that as we will probably lose BEK, Souttar won't be ready for the start of the season, Pereira is injury prone and there is no way would could compete if Ayew and Daka are our two senior strikers, so we also need another CB, RB, AM and 1 or 2 strikers. GK Stolarcyk ??? ??? RB Justin Pereira CB Nelson Coady CB Okoli Souttar LB Thomas ??? CM Skipp Choudhary CM ??? ??? RW Fatawu McAteer AM El Khanouss Monga LW Mavididi Alves ST Ayew Daka Evans Players to bring in: - GK - Angus Gunn and/or Freddie Woodman, both free agents RB - Kyle Walker-Peters, out of contract and we love a Southampton defender! LB - Harry Tofolo, free CB - Harry Darling, free and RM, our future manaager knows him CM - Hayden Hackney - Might be out of our league, but might have a chance if no PL teams come in for him. He has captained M'boro, so should have good attitude, plus it would weaken an opponent CM - Matt Grimes - Decent stats, not expensive, former Swansea when RM was there. AM - Finn Azaz - If we take Hackney we might as well have Azaz as well! ST - Mihailo Ivanović - 12 goals for Milwall, he must be good. ST - Josh Sargent, again will probably go to PL, but we might as well ask! 1

DezFox Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 In - Chris mepham, Harry darling. out- Coady, faes, JV. centre backs this season - darling, mepham, okoli, Nelson. Unrealistic I know

New goalkeeper and striker is inevitable. Then central midfield and left back sit third and fourth on the priority list. I hope Stolarczyk gets a fair shot, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if we bring in a new number one. At full-back we’re pretty well stacked, just depends what Martin wants to do with them. I expect us to go back to the inverted system, will just depend if he inverts both full-backs into midfield instead of one. We know Ricardo can do this, I actually think Coulibaly could be adept at doing this, his passing stats at Parma were solid, Martin may use Choudhury in this way too. Thomas would concern me a bit, and imo we’d definitely need a LB, regardless of how Martin would invert them, whether as a CB or CM. Centre back I expect some shuffling. Harry Darling seems inevitable if Martin comes in. I’ve said before in this thread, that I’d like for us to explore the Premier League loan market for a CB, some highly rated youngsters could well be available this summer. The midfield situation is simple, Ndidi and Soumare out, two new faces in. I’d expect Winks to stay and he or Skipp to play the role that Flynn Downes played under Russell Martin. Then it’s just a case of finding two 8’s/10’s. Of course Maresca used Ndidi in this way, but I was never really a fan of it, I wouldn’t want to see Skipp play in that type of role either. We need two players who will be more adept at box-to-box. If El-Khannouss goes then we’d need a new number 10. Wingers, we’re pretty well covered. Only potential change I could see is a back-up for Mavididi, or a striker capable of moving out to the wing, a bit like how Martin employed Adam Armstrong at times. Finally striker, as history suggests, Martin seems to like a particular profile. Like Piroe at Swansea and Adams at Southampton, I expect he would want a striker capable of dropping, linking play and operating like a false 9/number 10, I won’t mention names as I don’t want to upset Finners Edited 27 May 2025 by kingfox 1
Claudio Fannieri Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 I could see us going in for Shea Charles if Russell Martin is appointed.

Lambert09 Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 I’d offer Bournemouth a loan for Eli jounior kroupi. He just finished top scorer of ligue 2 with 22 goals and 2 assists in 30 games. He’s not starting over evanilson and they will want him to get English experience. He could be frightingly good in a few years 1 1

Don't expect his full backs to play like Enzo had them. One will invert, yes, and Ricardo is perfect for this (probably Hamza as backup to him), but the other full back will get forward and be a threat. Protection will come from a shuttling midfielder (Skipp). Alfie Doughty could suit that attacking full back role really nicely
ACF Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Hello everyone it’s time for your yearly random A-League suggestions Now I’m a Melbourne City STH, and have watched this years team be absolutely decimated by injury, and be forced to play academy players for a lot of the year. In a salary capped league, the high-end depth is not going to be there, but this season was unusually high for injuries for us. However, our youth players did fantastically and set us up to finish second on the table, and are in the final this weekend. Out of this, there’s a couple of players who I think could add depth, and would be very cheap. Not many highlight reels exist, you gotta trust me I guess. The easy thing to do is to compare to our existing youth, which I think is unfair. These are players who are getting senior level minutes. Kai Trewin - 24 years old, CB A player with a terrible highlight reel and in the best way possible. Ball playing CB, incredibly calm and composed. Passing is VERY good. Filled in as a 6 throughout the season. Great positioning, whilst not the fastest (he’s not slow). Threat from corners, and penalty taker at some points this year. Kai in my opinion was the best defender in the league this year. Did not make mistakes, had the ball a lot but kept it moving. 24 games, rating of 7.39 from FotMob. Max Caputo - 19, Striker Made his debut at 15, always seen as the next star. Only managed 14 games this season with injury, but grabbed 5 goals. Junior career an absolute star. 12 in 13 as a 15 year old in the Under 18s, 9 in 13 as a 16 year old. He’s a 9, and in the last season has put on a load of size. Not getting bullied on the park. Lots of differing stats on his height, as he’s still growing, but in person he’s 6 foot easily. Nice finish and penalty below. 5 goals this year, but given our injuries he’s still tied for top scorer. Coming into the season, all of our long term, senior team strikers had gone, and it was his position. His injury robbed him this year, could quite easily had 15 or so goals given more time. He needs more minutes to develop consistency in the senior team, but I’m all in on him, he’s a future Socceroo. There are others who could do a job, Marco Tilio is already a World Cup Socceroo and is a Celtic player but came back for minutes, Zane Schreiber a number 6 who plays the ball forward(!) could be a star, Medin Memeti is our next Caputo. The kids are good down here, and they’re getting senior minutes. I hope our scouts can afford to make the trips, if not they can pay me. 1
