Brilliant. The thought of Mav and Cooper living on the same road last season is hilarious to me lol

One of the best things about Rohl being linked is our squad really suits his style of play.

Think we could get away with just needing a left back (I like Keita Kosugi at Djurgardens, suits Rohls full back profile, also think Luke Thomas could easily start for us).

another option in central midfield, I’ve mentioned Tyler Morton on here before and was understandably told everyone’s thoughts on him, but he was class for the U21s last night. Charlie Patino could easily be bought in from Deportivo too as that move just hasn’t worked for him.

then it’s all on to an attacking midfielder and a couple of centre forwards. The 10 is a difficult one for me, but think Richard Kone massively suits what Rohl seems to want in a striker. I also really like Kasper Hogh and Aune Heggebo playing in Norway.

Insterested to hear some names for those positions from others on here. Especially on the Attacking Midfielder, only person I can really think of is Jamie Donley

Striker is obviously the priority. Any money we have to spend needs to be spent here BUT if there is a spare £7-10m kicking around, Lennon Miller at Motherwell is the CM.

The boy is going to be a star. The makings of an all round, complete midfielder. 77 first team games, full international and only 18.

Brighton, I’m afraid will come for him

We obviously need a striker but may not have the money to buy a good striker this summer so a loan might be the best option. Evan Ferguson could be a shout.

A loan with an option to buy like we did with Fatawu would be a good shout as well if there is anyone decent available that could fall into this bracket.

Evan Ferguson on loan, with compulsory purchase of £28m if he plays 15 or more games, we get promoted and he scores 15 or more goals

Would be nice. He seems to have fallen out of favour at Brighton so not beyond the realms of possibility. He's still young but I reckon there is a decent player in there if he was given some decent game time.

An interesting player that might be decent on loan is Fisnik Asllani

Fisnik Asllani — 22, Hoffenheim (Stats Fisnik Asllani - stats, career and market value)

Strengths:

Scored 19 goals and made 8 assists last season at Elversberg (in Bundesliga 2).

22 years old and can use both feet well.

Plays aggressively up front and isn’t afraid to defend or get physical.

Good defensive work: made 30 blocks, recovered the ball 73 times, and won possession in the final 3rd 23 times last season.

Prefers to play on the last defender or arrive late in the box to score.

Weaknesses:

Not great at dribbling; often loses the ball when he holds it too long.

More of a direct, physical striker (“crash and bash”) rather than a fancy dribbler.
Good defensive work but hard to analyse whether that would work in a high pressing team that Rohl may want to develop.

I love this shout, especially as Hoffenheim have recently signed a player from Bundesliga 2 who i wanted us to look at Tim Lemperle. Plus theyve got Hlozek, Oban, Moerstedt and a few others to choose from.

Contract is up in 2026 too.

I don't know why you do it to yourself. Danny Ings or Callum Wilson. Take your pick.

Jake Evans has everything you would want in a striker. Pace, finishing, technical ability, movement, work rate, directness.

I say give him a fair chance to prove that he is a worthy starter for us in pre season and watch him be a key player for us in the championship. If he was 20 years old he would be considered as a more viable option, which is insane as his youth just shows how ridiculous of a talent he is.

I'm interested to see which position he develops in. I think he's more of a support forward/winger but time will tell.

Assuming he hasn't signed contract yet?

I think his most dangerous positions are down the middle near the box threatening the goal rather than out wide taking on players.

Also consider that we're light on strikers and have arguably too many options on the wing and I think that striker is where he should get the most minutes.

Not sure, but if he were leaving us he had to notify the club and the league of his intention to do so in June. So it seems a formality he's signing a pro deal here when he turns 17.

Aune Heggebo

He’ll be in my top five striker targets if Rohl comes in.

7 goals in 13 so far for Brann this season.

Decent aerial ability, ranks well for carries and dribbles, and also ranks well for possessions won, showing his capabilities to press from the front.

Random question...if you could start the season with the same group of players ( no one sold or bought ) would you? And how do you think we'd do?

Watched that world club championship, Monterey forward Jesus corona, at 32 he still has the moves , he was killing it , would love to see us sign him or a player who can hold the ball and create chances , he tore the German side to pieces

I know we have several cb’s we want rid of, but I’d like us to sign Ronnie Edwards. He was at QPR on loan last season and I was very impressed with him.

I think I would. Lack of striking options would be the biggest concern but looking at the top goal scoring charts last season, I wouldn't be too worried tbh - Piroe was top with 19 goals whilst in 5th place was Josh Windass with 13 goals. I know some posters won't like this, but Daka featured in 20 matches last time in this league and scored 7 goals, over the course of a full season that's 16 goals, which would've been enough for 4th highest scorer last season - better still, if you extrapolate his minutes per goal based on that season throughout a full season, he'd be on course for 26 goals (I know, I know... he won't play 90 minutes in all 46 matches, but just goes to show he's 'good enough' for this level).

Evans as back up, possibly even Mavididi as he's played there before, and there's always the wildcard option of sticking Kasey upfront.

So yes, I'd take this same group of players - if Bilal stays then it will be like having a cheat code at this level.
