Generally  agree but no thanks to Keane.  I don't really get the leaders thing. Or certainly not getting in experienced pros as leaders.  Look at Coady.  Utter flop.  His leadership did nothing for us last season.

I prefer the Thomas Frank approach.  Don't recruit dicks.  Leaders can be any age, let's focus on young leaders not tired old pros.

The key part was getting them traits but for free. Reason I suggested Keane, is because we desperately need a left footed centre back.

He’s right footed though.

In that case even by recent standards it would be a questionable signing because Keane is right-footed

Looks to be joining Watford

Ticks all the boxes for the type of forward we need as well. Tall, strong presser, goal machine and comes from a region our manager in waiting has extensive experience in.

If Karlsbakk also goes to a rival soon i'll be livid.

Would love this. But could we pull it off?

He needs a loan as won’t get minutes at Brighton, which is madness as 18 months ago he was being touted as the next £50/60m sell for them.

It makes so much more sense to join us on loan than a promoted PL club.

My biggest fear is that Ipswich have their 5hit in order and he’d be an obvious replacement for Delap.

He will go to PL club on loan.

Will he though?

Fair to say that it didn’t work out at WH.

From his own development/Brighton’s, scoring 15/20 goals for a side chasing promotion is surely better than playing in a struggling PL side?

I just think there would be PL interest if he's available from the 3 promoted side at least.

Jake Evans > Evan Ferguson. More talented and more well rounded. People just want what they don't already have, if we had Ferguson as our own player we would all still be saying we need a proper first choice striker.

He has barely put in a single decent performance in 18 months and has a similar goal threat to the likes of Edouard and Bobby Reid in the PL, no thanks.

Also outside of the pitiful goal record what is he good at? Not got good holdup, passing or particularly fast.

Luckily Keane had already signed a 1yr extension at Everton

Jake Evans at 16/17 is far from a better player than Ferguson.

Living on the south coast, it’s fair to say that Ferguson has definitely had an injury hit/poor loan at WH in the last 12 months.

But, he was genuinely being heavily linked to quite a few of the “so called big 6” before this poor patch.

Comparing him to Edouard and Reid is hyperbole at best.

Everyone who hits a purple patch is linked to the big 6, it's what sells. Edouard was linked to Arsenal not so long ago as well.

Edouard has a goal or assist every 210 minutes in the PL compared to Evan Ferguson's 180, not quite hyperbole to compare them is it? Bobby Reid has a goal or assist everyone 290 minutes and is a winger.

Much rather go into next season with Evans up top personally because A. He is actually our player B. He's not shot of confidence like Ferguson and C. He can carry the ball and link up play which Ferguson is not very good at.

Heggebo to WBA was one that annoyed me, from a statistical standpoint, he was another one that ticked the right boxes.

Atm I’m leaning towards Willem Geubbels at St Gallen, 14 goals last season, ranked well for possessions won, can link play and is a decent aerial threat.

After a couple of friendlies and our youth looking promising.  The above would do well at this level I think.  Obvious area to make changes is that striker position.  With a sale of Mads, who I've not included, you could use the funds of his sale to fund the striker positions.  We've also got Evans as an option there.  In fact Alves, Monga and Evans can all shift around as cover.

We seem to have so much youth talent coming through, do we really need anyone for the Championship this season apart from maybe a striker. Need to get rid of the dead wood mainly I’d say, and hang on to the best of the rest where possible.

Edit: just noticed the post above.

Yes, strong enough you’d think, but surely Monga in a starting position somewhere if he turns out as good as he promises. Somehow always worry about injuries for the young lads.

Do think we need a striker.

I suppose Skipp is good enough for the Championship as long as he puts in a shift. Can’t afford to sell him due to PSR.

How far is Fatawu away from playing? As he's not been involved in preseason friendlies for to presume he won't start the season.

The more I watch our youngsters play, the more I think we can ship 11 out (ideally, relies on us actually showing some ability to sell players) and only need to bring 4 or 5 in.
