lcfc sheff Posted 23 January Posted 23 January I think for the future of the club it’s best we get good money for him and look to invest in someone else. I however don’t trust the club to invest wisely.  if the release clause is comically low then there’s no real pointÂ
James_lcfc Posted 23 January Posted 23 January Nobody wanted him on a free in the Summer, now someone is going to activate a buy out clause?  Nah. He’s not very good. 2

Plastik Man Posted 23 January Posted 23 January Jeez, it's a tier 4 source and he's injured. Â It's not likely we'll sell him right now even if we did have a better (fit) replacement lined up? 2

That said think this is still unlikely, although I imagine he moves on in the summer anyway.Â
JimJams Posted 23 January Posted 23 January Maybe sell him and move for that Collyer lad. Man utd need to sell homegrown players.

That's if we could get someone in better, and fitter.  But that's the big question mark. Particularly if we're aiming to do it in this window? 1

Certainly not at this point before he has realised a decent transfer value.

Unless if wants to leave we should keep him.  I think if we go down he’s off anyway. He is class, but just can’t stay fit for more than half a season and isn’t getting any younger. His value is decent now and we’re desperate for players. I agree tho we’ll probably buy Will Hughes for 30 mill and call it a dayÂ

Bluearmyfox28 Posted 24 January Posted 24 January How long is wilf actually out for out of curiosity?
StonyFox Posted 24 January Posted 24 January He wanted out in the summer but didn't get any offers. If he wants to go, I'd sell him. Seems to be increasingly injury prone and is probably one of the top earners, and as it's highly likely we're going down, cash in now. 2
Claudio Fannieri Posted 24 January Posted 24 January Too be honest if the Monaco interest is serious then it has to be considered, it is time for a complete rebuild and for that reason I would suggest with the exception of some of the younger players, everyone else in the squad should be moved on if and when the opportunity presents itself and the chance to build a completely new squad  of young hungry saleable assets. 1
5waller5 Posted 24 January Posted 24 January I’d absolutely cash in now on Wilf. He’s only here because he didn’t get the big move he thought he’d get in the summer.  These types of sales are the trading gifts we need to make the most of (but don’t) 1

moore_94 Posted 24 January Posted 24 January He is the only player we actually have who is a midfielder who actually has something in the defensive side of his game  Our midfield currently gets ran through because none of Soumare, Winks or Skipp can put a good tackle in or get stuck in   lF he goes then we need to be all over getting a proper midfielder who likes to tackle and intercept and block etc.  If we don’t then we are just accepting our midfield being easier to run through than Bonnie Blue 4
