Apologies for my ignorance, but I see no tangible of Starmers deal with EU.  So analyst have so diverse opinions.

Me, personally see it a betrayal of brexit, and I was anti brexit, but the deal is without the true benefits of brexit.  Thoughts?1

That is not the question, just like we are saying is we voted Labour the party to give us any benefits, we voted and that should stand.

This is Brexit and democracy in action. Labour said they would negotiate closer ties with the EU and that’s what they’ve done. It doesn’t take us back in the single market, customs union or accept freedom of movement.

Fishing rights have remained the same but instead of being renegotiated every year like the Tories deal would have done from 2026, it’s extended to 2038 which will give the industry stability.
Red tape for food and drink products is being greatly reduced and will make it easier for companies to export to the EU and much quicker. The Irish Sea barrier between Northern Ireland and GB will be removed.

Basically the deal was designed reduce barriers to trade which will benefit every company that exports/imports to the EU, while still keeping the one benefit of Brexit we’ve only found which is to be able to put VAT on private school fees.

The SPS agreement is a big deal in terms of ease of export for farmers and fishermen.  For them, that will absolutely be a tangible benefit.

Sick to the back teeth of Israel now. To say that UK, Canada and France have 'lost their moral compass' is nothing but a sick joke.

It's the basic lack of any kind of honesty of purpose that really gets me above all else.

This is all going on, anyone with eyes and a brain can see it's going on, and yet they continue to lie and play injured innocent about it all.

We can use e-gates anyway (I did on my trip to Milan last week) and on the return to EMA. The queues for the non-EU passport control are always lower than the EU line I find also.

That would have got harder with the planned visa / scan rules coming in place

Trump playing videos of supposed random genocide to the South African President at the White House might be a new low, even for the Orange one.

Did JD Vance ask the South African President if he'd thanked Trump and the American people

Clearly trying to bullrush him in the same way they did with Zelenskyy.

Ramaphosa is a career politician so he's more shrewd though, and it showed.

Everything he does in public is just so bad and no one challenges him . Imagine what horrible crazy sh** he is doing that no one has seen yet

The plane comment was very funny I must say.

Trying to claim there’s a white genocide in South Africa is insane by the way.

That's never stopped this administration in their search for ideological control before.

What’s the consensus on this?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2qq2n3800o

While obviously an act of stupidity, I’m not really sure it’s a good idea to be charging under the terrorism act in this instance. I would be very surprised if he is found guilty.

Plus it’s just going to make him a martyr so to speak. People see this as a further marginalisation of the Palestinian/wider Islamic cause (but I won’t go too much further into that).

I think they reek of try-hard tbh and I say that as someone broadly aligned with their political views..

Chanting "up Hamas / up Hezbollah" and "the only good Tory is a dead Tory" are just thick, point-scoring platitudes..

I think it's quite funny it's landed them in hot water and they look a bit pathetic..

That’s also a fair view, it was defo part of the act and it is a bit cringe but still not a fan of the wider dynamics

The death of that young Israeli couple in Washington DC is tragic.

Equally tragic is the great many young couples now buried in the rubble of Gaza due to Israeli weaponry.

It never seems to be the ones that start wars that end up having to pay for them in blood. Just the people who never wanted the fight in the first place.

Whilst that logic is understandable, I feel it’s dangerous to offer any equivalence. (Which will happen widely today).  Otherwise we’d be excusing the murder of Russian diplomats on our streets, or of British and American diplomats in a third country by Iraqi sympathisers. (Add in tens of other examples). Or maybe that would be considered acceptable ??  I know that isnt your point but it’s a small step to get there for many easily influenced and skewed personalities out there. .

Pardon me, but I'm offering no excuse or justification, I'm saying - no more and no less - that both incidences of death are equally tragic and, ultimately, likely pointless. It's the same with the other examples given here, decent people dying for the sake of puerile nationalist tribal ideology.

Which I don't think is a controversial position to hold.

I imagine there is something even more crazier they are probably trying to do in the back ground that’s why they cause so much chaos and nonsense hoping that no one notices

Draughts.

Just saying because genuinely I was confused for about 30 seconds why they were drawing their chess games.
