I wonder what would be being said if it was just announced that we'd sold him for £5 million 🤔

Would it have been wild celebrations, congratulations and high 5s all round for Rudkin ? 🤷‍♂️

I’ve seen reports his contract was extended again for another year?

Iversen or Thomas? I was referring to Iversen btw.

Can’t speak for everyone but absolutely yes I’d be cracking out the good champagne, that’s 25m in psr terms

Makes you wonder if this is another PSR attempt after the failed PSR scams he tried with everton and spurs for cannon and skipp when they fully blagged him and they didnt return the favour and is now trying to fix this with another team.

I still have a soft spot for Thomas but he'll end up leaving on a free so just take the money and reinvest. We will run doing this twice with Iversen, don't do it again.

It makes perfect to move him on but we’re likely to again see a player leave on a free, losing out on a reasonable fee undermining our PSR goals.

Maybe they’re in the situation whereby they haven’t done their home work on another left back with VK needing backup. And in January with 9 days left it’s too much for one man to manage on top of the other positions which we’re told their targeting.

Fair play and I also feel he's not good enough and get what we can, within reason, maybe we're negotiating because we feel we can get more which is even better if we do!

It’s only good money if we’re thinking of spending it. Which dosent look like happening at the mo 😉

It’s not been happening because the squad was full. Players have had to leave before we can spend.

It also removes someone for money that we're going to lose on a free in 6 months. Opens up a spot for an academy player etc etc

And Ricardo when he’s back. That gives us 4 full backs - all 4 can play on the left and 3 of them can play on the right. We are absolutely fine in terms of depth there considering the situation we are in. Get the money in to strengthen in other areas.

I don't think that Ricardo is ever coming back to the level we need / want

So the problem we now have is he is the only cover we have for Victor. Hamza has gone, Woyo is completely unknown (and cheap), we know that JJ can play on both the left and the right but is currently awful wherever he plays and is one tackle away from being out for the rest of the year.

5mil we should be taking instantly and wetting ourselves that we got rid of someone who has no future here.

We could sell and recruit using the funds, but that involves doing deals in a few days.

So we will turn this down, keep him, play him 2 times for the rest of the season whilst we get relegated and he will bugger off on a free.

Classic LCFC.

Pretty sure academy players don't need registration under the age of 21. Since Thomas is an academy player himself, it doesn't really free up a space in the squad, except for an older academy player like maybe Raikhy or Opoku.

It 5m euros, 4.2m, which maybe not all upfront.

Same people saying sell at any price will be kicking off if he turns this career around in Germany and we have sold him for a low fee.

Once they are gone, they are gone imho. I don't get wound up about Lookman and genuinely happy for him he has done well. But there are times with certain players when enough is enough, and Luke very much fits that category. He clearly needs a new start and this could be a great deal for him.

The reality is, he doesn’t have a career here. It’s over. If he couldn’t have forced himself into the starting 11 now, with all the issues at the back, he never will. At this moment in time, he simply a drain on restricted resources.

He might go to Germany and become England’s first choice left back but one thing is for certain, he can’t do that here. Sometimes you just have to cut them loose.

All of which I agree with, but people going mad because someone has made a offer which could be a £1 up front and the rest on the never, never!

100%, but without knowing the break down of the deal, we don't know whether excepting it is the wrong or right to kick off about it not being excepted.

The reports coming out and past experience mean it is completely fair and reasonable to declare Rudkin guilty - I am virtually certain that this deal is better for us and our need to bring talent in than if we held him back for a further 6 months. We’ve fumbled too often for it not to be.
