Lots of factors are to blame, but the ambition, and subsequent failure, to break into the top 4 the club showed and the crippling restrictions of FFP/PSR are right at the top of that list.

Who are these teams you speak of? Blackburn are the only previous PL champions who have vanished into obscurity? And I’m pretty sure they haven’t ever seen £500m pass through the club in its life time, let alone transfers……

Why are you hell bent on trying to defend this?

Kind power has destroyed the club, through negligence and incompetence…. This is not acceptable.

The TOP division.life before the Premier league.e.g Derby County.Forest-who are back.Get it now?

Plenty of other shit owners of champions over the years.Nothings for ever it's a ride

then its over.Until the next time in the furure if we're lucky.

Not defending KP.

They've had a good ride on the back of us.

Supported all the way through the Shipman era, Pierpoint, Alan Bennett, John Elsom, Mandaric etc were all big characters either owning or high up in the club.

They listened to the fans, didn’t always give them what they wanted but they listened.

Gone are the days when we could get the likes of Pleat out with most of the ground turning on him v Blackburn at home or the famous meeting with 0’Neill post match v Sheffield Utd.

They (King Power) continue to price out those fans and only wish to appeal to the tourists or wealthy, it suits them because those types are unlikely to be outside calling for Rudkins head.

We will not come back this time, it’s going to be a few years in the wilderness, I can’t make my mind up whether Top is aloof, he just appears to have no care about this club it seems, or if he’s just severely lacking in business acumen, either way, it’s a very different Leicester City these days, for me it’s complete alienation in comparison to when I first started supporting.

Thankyou to Nigel Pearson, his staff and Claudio Ranieri.

This. I'd also thank Puel and Macia for excellent recruitment. Enzo too. Apart from that... nah

Pretty depressing to know that as a fan since 1960s, I will never see them again in the top division in my lifetime. Div 1 may not be the low point this time. Truly catastrophic mis-management.

It’s not just the club that’s gone through a cycle of change. So have we as a fanbase. Some of us have become pretty entitled and toxic.

I'd say the entitlement of those running the club is the reason why it's now failing.

King Power are the toxicity tap in this club and it's flowing throughout it.

Complete rubbish. We're utterly supine. We're "entitled" to expect a level of competence, ethics and good governance from our ownership. Did we get that?

I think he has other things on so delegates so much of the running of the club to Rudkin, who he seems extremely friendly with. That is a problem because it doesn’t appear to be a Director of Football job with any performance based metrics or jeopardy. The fact that the academy and first team are so disjointed and that we can go from implementing a massive stylistic change from appointing Maresca to moving to Cooper shows there is literally no footballing strategy. Rudkin needs to move onto just looking after the horses and our club needs a new DoF who has a vision with an eye on succession planning because managers come and go.

This isn't just about whether we are in the prem or the championship, this is about how the people that run our club have well and truly taken the piss out of the fans. There is a complete disconnect between the club and the fans that I've never seen before in my 30 years supporting LCFC. We've had good times, we've had bad times but never have the fans felt so let down by the club than we do right now. And the worst part about it is that some of our fan base are still on board with the absolute shambolic running of the club. Some still applaud after we get humiliated at Goodison Park. Some still believe we have "the best owners in the country". And these are the people that KPFC want "supporting" the club. The people that will still applaud no matter how pathetic we are as a club and would never dare question or say anything bad about the owners or the board. I feel sorry for these people as they genuinely believe they are "supporting" the club and are totally oblivious to the fact they are complicit in destroying the club.

One of the best summaries of how I'm feeling about it all.

Our success has enabled them to treat us like this and still have enough goodwill from happy clappers.

Some of us called it out years ago and were shot down. Even those of us who were calling it out were prepared to let them rectify it. Even once shit hit the fan and they still didn't, they STILL had a chance to sort it out because we come straight back up. And STILL they haven't.

I just fear there's even worse than we realise behind the scenes and I don't even want to know what. I'm just really ****ing stressed by this and I hate that I let it get to me like I do.

Oh there is absolutely no chance we’re over reacting. We’ve been utterly spoilt and I don’t think we’re on the whole guilty of expecting too much because of the success we had. I think every single member of the blue army would take mid-table mediocrity now over this. That isn’t asking for too much for a club with recent European success and several major trophies.

The club is absolutely rotten from top to bottom and we need a total revamp. I just can’t see it happening.

Top and the board have no idea what this football club means to us and how much it affects us and they don’t even have it about them to communicate with us. They just don’t seem to give a flying ****.

Those were the days of our lives. These are the dark days ahead.

Yep, the start of the drift back to 20 years ago. What a shame, it didn't have to happen.

I think this is what angers me and a lot of people the most.

How dramatic the decline is and how avoidable it all was that's intensified the feelings and emotions around it.

It's one thing for us to have been like a Crystal Palace stable, unspectacular premier league team who got relegated, it would be a bit of a shock, they wouldn't of been favourites, but also it happens you can only tread water for so long.

But to have been challenging top 4, the wages we gave out, the signings we made and to just coast, so badly it's quite gauling, it's not a normal relegation or a normal trajectory that "Just happens"  and then on top of that as a fan to just watch absolutely no one be held account for it and be told to just be happy you had some good years doesnt sit right with me at all.

You’re onto something mate. The longer this debacle goes on the more that starts to unravel from the very secretive behind the scenes management of our club.

where are the Flippin whistle blowers?

Top is in over his head and cannot manage the club and his doofuss in charge Rudkin is making an absolute mess of it all. Maybe he’s frozen up unable to make a decision? Too worried if he fires Rudkin and things get even worse he will get it in the neck? Hes In a right pickle and Vichai isn’t around to bail him out.is he crying out for help? He should be!

And in this day and age you need tho think about players, like if Bilal comes good, we need to scout replacements etc. There's just zero clue throughout the club. The club must be hemorrhaging money, I assume the payday loan is for cash flow, which is appalling business.

I wonder if the perceived passive nature of some of the fanbase has been factored into not even trying to better the squad.

Oh **** it they won't react. They're not Leeds fans, it's Leicester. Give them a free donut and write some AI generated programme notes. Don't forget to remove the word unwavering this time.

I miss the excitement that supporting this club provided.

These days it's just misery and depression (and that's before visiting this site lol ) that's associated with the club. Blatant rotten nature and culture at the club has disseminated from the top down and now fans are wising up to it.

It's just crap.
