no way in hell Rohl is there for the start of the season

Yikes, three windows? That is a long time without transfers (although I guess Frees are allowed, based on that wording).

This very much feels like the fans, players, and club are being punished, when it's an ownership problem.

Pretty sure Chansiri owns the stadium as well lol

If they annoy him enough it'd be interesting if he terminated the lease agreemend or refused to extend it (whatever he can do)

Is it me or is the EFL fixture release a bit later this year?

They're always a week after the Premier League.

Pretty sure Fox92 is right

Think it usually goes

Prem
EFL
National League
Regional Divisions
Local Divisions

Whether that is for a reason or just a nice coincidence I don't know lol

It’s all to do with ground shares and policing. Generally as a rule of thumb, higher up the pyramid larger the crowd

I guess I went on their forums at the wrong time (after the bottling) because I was surprised to see that the majority of their fans think this is a bad call

Saw some comments that Wilder is out because he wasn't on board with a heavy data-based approach to recruitment. And when it came to Selles, their AI model showed he was the best match for their players.

All probably hearsay, but you could understand why fans would be worried it was a bad call all 'round.

Football is gone when this is how decisions get made.  Data is great but it completely ignores personality traits and misses out on hidden gems.  It often works well for picking up players at a lower level but for the championship, it will struggle to identify anyone who can’t quite hack a stronger league but would be very good a club down the pyramid.

it has to be balanced, surely.

And Ruben Sellas replaces him .

What a backwards move from Sheffield United.

Not saying Wilder is great but they just finished on 90 points. That is enough for automatic promotion usually.

I can't see Sellas getting them anywhere near that.

Will be under pressure from the fans straight away .

I can see why they would get rid of Wilder. The data approach is what is doing well for the likes of Brighton and Brentford.

He did fantastically well for them in his first spell and in his second, ok but did fail to get them up with some decent investment and a strong squad.

For the good he has done bringing players through for them, when he has been involved in recruitment it has led to signings like Rhian Brewster and Ollie McBurnie for £20mill each. It’s not his strength and if he is refusing to give up control, I can understand the decision.

Personally I think Sheffield United’s reluctance to look outside of a pool of Chris Wilder and Paul Heckingbottom as managers is what has held them back a bit.

Is Selles the right choice? Who knows. But he has been mentioned by some on here as an option for us to be fair!

Previously they have spent a lot on rubbish and I have alluded to that in the past on here. This past season they have improved on bringing players through.

All in all though, they won 90 points last season. The top three were miles ahead of the rest. The play offs make the season entertaining but teams two teams on 100 points then one (Sheffield United) on 90 points should have all gone up. I assume 90 points and not going up is one of the all time biggest point tally's without earning promotion.

Steve Cooper being passed up for the Boro, Sheffield United and QPR jobs, crazy seeing as we we gaslit by the entire footballing world into thinking he was the next coming of SAF, Wenger and Mourinho combined.

Has he actually been in for anything though but true if so hasn’t had much joy compared to other more recently sacked managers .

Is Rob Edwards a better selection than Cooper for example ?

I suspect a few want to go for more attack minded candidates .

Nobody knows. He will always get linked with Championship jobs though.

They did have a better squad. But it often felt he wasn’t always playing his best side, although I wouldn’t have a clue about form and obviously depends how they train as well etc.

I get what you are saying about the points total. They just didn’t seem convincing whenever I saw them. Felt maybe the points total was slightly flattering maybe.

But, if the owners have ideas as to how they want to recruit and Wilder was not willing to go with it, you can see why they have let him go. Rightly or wrongly and the owners will be judged on how their replacement performs and how their methods translate in the transfer market.
