How come?

Quite a few clubs send teams out to different games on same day.

We've done it before.

Their  game v Sevilla is their first game on the 12th July which is normally the "big" opening game prior to the first league game. Seems to be the wrong way round

It's at a training camp in Portugal I think. Just be a fitness exercise for both.

Gonna be a fun one explaining to simpletons in the stands that he's not a "Leicester reject" if he rejected us.

They are getting very excited about Sid...

Sid is another case of all the talent in the world and not having the focus and discipline to utilise that talent. I’ve seen him up close and when he’s motivated he’s something else. Hopefully the past few years have been an eye opener for him on how football doesn’t owe you a living and he really started to turn the page last season in Portugal.

23 is still young enough to turn your career around. KDH was older than Sid is now when he finally broke into our first team, he may still end up pissing his career up the wall through lack of focus but I’ve worked with a lot of footballers up close and Sid has got it all, he just needs to want it.

I always hoped he would make it at Leicester but unfortunately it was not to be.

The gulf between the championship and Premier league is so vast and given our squad, I'd expect us to be right up there. Despite our form this season, we remained unbeaten against the promoted clubs, winning three and drawing one. These are the teams we're likely to face going forward.

Wow what amazing news!

Foxes Reignite the Fire: Vardy and Pearson Return to Lead Leicester Revival

VAR-Fetched News, Midlands football correspondent, Nick Mashiter reports:

In a sensational double coup few could have foreseen, Leicester City have stunned the football world by announcing the return of two club legends — Jamie Vardy and Nigel Pearson — as part of a bold bid to claw their way back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

After a torrid 2024/25 campaign that saw the Foxes crash out of the top flight with barely a whimper, the King Power faithful were in desperate need of hope. Today, they got it in abundance.

Jamie Vardy, the talismanic striker whose rags-to-riches rise from non-league obscurity to Premier League champion became the stuff of footballing folklore, has signed a new 12-month deal with the club he calls home. Now 38, the evergreen forward has vowed to give it one last push, determined to fire Leicester back into the big time.

But the surprises didn’t stop there.

In a move that sent shockwaves through the East Midlands and beyond, Leicester also confirmed the return of Nigel Pearson — the man who twice guided the club to promotion and laid the foundations for their miraculous 2016 title triumph. Appointed on a 12-month contract, Pearson has been tasked with nothing less than a top-to-bottom reset, with a clear remit to sort the club from top to tail: first team, coaching setup, and academy all included.

Supporters, who had grown disillusioned after a fractured and feeble campaign, have reacted with unbridled joy. Social media lit up within minutes of the announcement, with hashtags like #VardyReturns and #PearsonComeback trending across the country.

One fan wrote: “It feels like we’ve got our club back. Vardy’s back. Nige is back. Let’s get this place rocking again.”

There cannot be many clubs in the Championship outside of those newly promoted who haven’t had a change of manager in the past year ?

I wouldn't even guess. Maybe Mousinho and Heckingbottom are the longest servers (outside of the relegated and promoted teams).

John Textor interested in Sheffield Wednesday, would be a good owner with all the Brazilian talent at Botafogo that could be loaned there

Hasn't worked out for Lyon.

Hasn't worked out for Lyon.

Yet, it did at palace and Botafogo,

Lyon finished 6th and qualified for Europe for the last 2 seasons he has sold his shares in Palace but didn’t have the liquidity yet at the time of the hearing.

They also refused him trying to transfer funds previously.

But he will appeal in due course.

Monaco, Nantes and Paris FC were also called before the DNCG but escaped punishment.

The scrutiny of championship owners is far less than that of the French.

looking a bit deeper there was a reason the club was sold to Textor after the previous owner Aulas owned them for 35 years

Lyon’s current debt includes:

€250M+ stadium-related debt

€100M+ owed from previous transfer dealings

€50M+ COVID-related losses

€100M+ operating losses over recent seasons

So whilst, the situation hasn’t improved it isn’t all down to the recent ownership model
