Wrexham wont be up there at all, but Birmingham might well be as they seem to have assembled a pretty strong squad however what sets us apart currently is the game changers like Fatawu, Mavididi, Bilal etc on their days which is what sets the top teams apart in the prem when you think of the game changers Liverpool Man city have above the other top 6 teams which is where the extra points and fine margains come from. (In a very loose lower level comparison)

I still think Birmingham won't reach the height of their expectations with Davies in charge, my prediction is he will be gone by Christmas.

Funny, came on here to post about the Amazon thing and saw this comment. He ain't impressed me at all from how the sit portrays him. He lacks, as the kids would say, aura.

I saw him a few weeks back in woodhouse eaves. No way does he have what it takes based on that encounter (I’ve met Pearson and Claudio)

Interesting how people interpret things differently - i was quite impressed with his tactical awareness and he’s quite bright - Wagner and Brady will get Blues to the prem very quickly and will have a big impact in Birmingham in regenerating a part of the city - love or loathe the personalities they know what they are doing and the single minded dynamic leadership was refreshing.

Davies is a protege of Brendan so that's enough to suggest he'll be wet behind the ears and flatter to deceive. I am often proven wrong mind you.

Anyone know the best value on Birmingham to go up?

I've found Brady fascinating. Wagner to an extent too. Maybe they overshadow Davies somewhat.

Yes an elite elite sportsman and a business transformer who actually has invested in the area properly - time will tell I have a feeling Davies maybe a quick learner but getting the blues up will determine his real qualities - I fancy them and ITFC this season to be the powers in the division.

Funny how Ipswich are the overwhelming favourites out of the three that came down and yet lost their top scorer and were even worse than we were last season. They were the absolute pits.

Ipswich are media darling because of the McKenna love in.

They’ve bought land for a lot of money over the asking price. I await with bated breath that a stadium gets built there rather than a couple of industrial units that the capital fund can make a decent return on.

Brady is a weirdo. He was the same in the NFL too whenever I saw him speak at any length. Has this weird intense attitude and zero sense of humour.

Deffo one of the lizard people.

He’s not comfortable outside of the sporting environment clearly. The comments about a Birmingham as a city and I’m getting all scared before going in a pub.

Really odd bloke, elite mentality but very strange. Watching him working on NFL coverage even makes me uneasy

It’s a bit odd. We were the best of the three relegated teams last year, which by definition means we achieved the highest position in the league of any team competing in the Championship this season. Yet we’re apparently considered 11-1 outsiders for the title after Ipswich, Southampton, Birmingham, Sheffield Utd and Coventry. Obviously the points deduction thing is a major  factor here, but I think it’s being given far too much weight. There is a widespread perception that we’re going to be hit with a massive deduction, but it seems nobody can explain how such a punishment could be justified. I love it, personally - far more fun to upset the odds than start as favourites.

I think Norwich will be stronger than Birmingham. Got a horrible feeling both Ipswich and Norwich will vie for automatic promotion.

Why Norwich?

I think they'll be around 9th or 10th and have stints at threatening for playoffs. But there are stronger teams I'd say.

Really? Maybe I don't know about their signings to play with Sargent but better than anyone's?

As @K789 says two of their strikers are excellent, admittedly one will be new to the league but Kvistgaarden is an astonishing piece of business for the price.

Crnac is another who has massive potential and they do seem to sign such talents and them take a season or two before they are very good, Borja Sainz was the same. Got that Diallo from Metz too.

Their squad isn't top two but I just think they'll be in amongst it. Manning seems the sort to kick on with another club as well after the big run up to the playoffs at Bristol City last season.

the only clubs who don’t look like they have any sniff are sheff w, qpr, preston, bristol c and blackburn. Genuinely think everyone else has had a good summer.  oxford spanked malaga 3-0 the other day.  jones is always a wild card manager. even derby have done good business.

anything could happen genuinely

Simplistic but I can't see anything other than the 3 that come down being the best 3, then you'll have Sheff United nailed on for play-offs with about 4-5 teams being strong after that (Coventry, Millwall, Norwich all included in that).
