Get Steve Walsh as scout in and get him to choose the manager.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Walsh_(scout)

The Steve Walsh/Pearson era is over. Wish people would stop suggesting them.

Football has moved on, we need to move with the times and reset. Set ourselves up for the future with new progressive thinking.

The only similarity is that football looks like it is going back to being more effective in transitional play rather than possession based systems. It’s still merging the two ideologies though.

I think it would be clever looking at people who have worked for clubs in Central Europe that have punched above their weight as they tend to have less to spend, and are focused on the gegenpress idea that seems to be largely what’s been most successful this season in England.

We aren't going to be in the position of bringing in an elite DOF or CEO.

But what we can do is look for talented individuals and provide an opportunity for them to grow and become those!

But before you do that, you have to have a vision, mission and strategy!

Vision = what you want to accomplish

Mission = how you will achieve your vision

And be brave enough to open and share it people can hold you to account!

Why wouldn't we be able to bring in an elite CEO?

Anyone with a decent set of knee pads and no gag reflex would be an adequate replacement going by what the man currently in post brings to/ under the table.

Jamie vardy

The report claims that Srivaddhanaprabha “listens to Vardy more than Van Nistelrooy”, a dynamic that has created friction behind the scenes. Vardy’s influence is not only said to be affecting Van Nistelrooy, but also causing tension with Leicester’s director of football, Jon Rudkin. The club’s decision-making structure is reportedly shifting, with Rudkin’s role becoming increasingly marginalised due to Vardy’s growing power.

Where is this?

The bit that sounds like it's undermining RvN doesn't sound good. But it's good it's putting pressure on Rudkin.

It's not right that Vards has that power, but he will be with the fans I actually cared about the club.

Edit - I've found it

Because we are not an elite team.

We are as far as directors are concerned we are in the Premier League which is one of the top 2 or 3 leagues in the world.

I think people forget how much pulling power that has, if Top gave the incoming dof an attractive remit with control over aspects that they wanted we would attract alot of elite DOFs especially if they were out of work

You can't look at this from a fans perspective

More importantly why do we need to replace him. Director of Football is a made up position can you see Brian Clough being handed signings from a DOF. I was speaking with Derby fans last night who have the similar complaint of managers getting players a DOF signed that the manager knew nothing about. Let’s be novel have no DOF and have the manager lead. No excuses from the manager then.

I hear Gareth Southgate is looking for a DOF role but I’m sure Fred Flinstone would do a better job than JR 🤦

I suspect GS may make a better DoF than he does a manager, but I'd imagine he has his sights set higher than a basket case Championship club.

This isn't a Championship club - at least not yet..

But Southgate's likely to be looking for a package well above what Rudkin's now on.

And after our experiences with Taylor and SGE, we should probably give ex-England bosses a swerve anyway.
