Pipes thinks vards will give the players a rollicking for not clapping the fans..

In the “RVN” thread, some fans (and I agree) feel vards is a spent force. And doesn’t lead off the pitch.

thoughts, is he part of the problem? Does he still care enough?

He certainly cares, and he probably will get frustrated. But is he a leader, probably not, and now he’s 38 and not banging in the goals his team mates aren’t going to listen

Age or experience doesn't make you a leader. It's an aspect of your personality, some people are leaders, some people aren't.

He was never given the armband by any manager properly during his prime, only once literally every hint of leadership had evaporated from the squad.

He's been an absolutely phenomenal footballer for this club and is genuinely one of the best strikers in the history of the Premier League. He's a handful of goals off the all time top 10 ever and he's done it for Leicester ****ing City.

He just isn't particularly much of a leader and that's fine. He's plenty of other things. Our current plight is not his fault.

I'd give you the clap.

Way too much emphasis is put on so-called “leaders” in the dressing room. It’s a total fallacy.

Even Alexander The Great couldn’t turn the sacks of shit we have into a football team.

The players couldn't give a shit, they are going to enjoy the spa that is Seagrave, play some golf, get a massage and play that football table tennis game before having a lovely swim and sauna session. They know that once we are relegated they'll just move on with relegation clauses etc. Joining Leicester City is just like going on a holiday camp where you don't really have to do your job.

Can't stand the lot of them. Honestly, may as well just play with the youth teams, unleash Monga, Evans, braybrook and bring back Will. At least they'll try.

Dunno about leadership but he showed his character there.

The rest of them scuttling down the tunnel was embarrassing..

Coady really needs to have a look at himself. The mouthpiece of the players running off when they've collectively shit the bed isn't a great look.

Your match going fans have paid a huge percentage of their disposable income to watch that crap. Be accountable.

To ask him to run his nuts off at 38 for the full games is absolutely criminal, and a sackable offence on it’s own, he will get injured very soon if RVN continues with this. Give him a rest for gods sake we’re down anyway. Let Daka have a run round for 60 mins.

Was having this conversation with my old man on the way home. If back in the day when we had a leadership group of Morgan, Kasper, Huth and Fuchs you’d of said Vardy will be club captain in 10 years you wouldn’t have believed it. Deserves the armband yea, leads by example yes, a proper leader? No.

I'm probably going to get a bit of heat for this but has anyone ever considered that he's a significant part of the problem with regards to poor player attitudes?

He's been there during the reign of more than one manager now who the players have turned on. IF he is influential in the locker room, have we ever considered that he's a BAD influence?

I know it's Jamie Vardy, possibly our greatest ever player but let's be honest, the guy is a knob. That's one of the things we like about him but maybe we underestimated how much of a knob he actually is...

It's something that has crossed my mind recently as well. Is he part of the issue? Hes still a legend for what he's done for the club, but does he hold too much power here?

He tries. He's ****ing old and he's being asked to play 90mins every match. He stays to applaud the fans who stayed. I don't think the problems at this club are down to Jamie ****ing Vardy.

Not saying they are, just that could be be part of the problem?

Vards gets applauded no matter what, makes it easier to applaud the fans back

He's not the problem. The board will love you for saying that.
