He’s not generating his own chances now.

 

He’s done and is causing us problems, like every other player. 

At this point, I don’t want to see him starting games for us.

It was done at least 2 seasons ago. Occasional moments are still there but our failure to replace him successfully is part of our demise.

How do you expect him to score goals when there is nothing coming through from midfield and he’s the only forward against 4 defenders.

If Daka was on his own against four men in the same system, which prioritised going back rather than forward, he'd struggle, too.

 

Whilst I agree with those who wonder about playing a 38 year old for 90 minutes time after time,  the problem is the system and the coaching, not Jamie Vardy.

I get your sentiment but can you name any player in the world that could do any better with no service?

Vardy needs some runners next to him. Mavididi and Daka. El Khanouss and Buonatte are ballers but they're playmakers and can only receive the ball when the whole team is too deep.

Literally any striker would struggle massively in the system we are playing.

 

Vardy being our first choice striker at 38 years old is a symptom of the issues at the club not the cause.

He’s continually getting percentage balls played up to him, he’s got absolutely no chance to win headers against Kilman. Hes getting no support from any of the other attacking players and our centre midfielders are an absolute waste of time.

At his peak, he was a disrupter and put defenders on edge. 
 

He’s not that player now.

 

He should be playing 20 minutes here and there.

Ad always there's plenty of excuses for Vardy and whilst it's not his fault he's not able to play like he used too, but we shouldn't be starting with him. But that's another question to ask Mr Rudkin.
