Sometimes as a striker you have to create your own chances. Vardy hasn’t done that for a long time now. He’s the best striker this club has ever had in modern football. Let’s be honest in here though, he is basically a statue these days on the pitch, he very rarely runs in behind and his movement into channels is basically non-existent. You can call me out and say it’s blasphemy but he really should not be rolled out every week in the most physical league in European football.

Well I've certainly seen him start to make runs but sometimes our lot don't get the ball to him, sometimes our players don't even see them!

Do you really think that even if we had Harlaand or Salah that they'd be scoring every week with our lot and save our bacon?

No one is above the club. The players out there should be playing based on skill and being the best 11.

He's no different to any other player. If hes not scoring or assisting, then bench him and give someone a chance

I cannot and will not ever criticise the GOAT.

But going down again, we cannot afford, as others have said, to keep him on for sentimental reasons. We need to move forward and that means saying goodbye when this season ends.

It is devastating that it will end like it is doing. The club should be ashamed.

When Vardy retires, we may as well fold the club.

20 goals in the championship last season need to keep him next season but not on 100k a week

18 but yes point taken.

We still need to be looking forward. Vardy is not the answer for the future. And even if it’s not £100k, he will still never be on anything like a wage fitting of a player of his age and contribution in that league due to him being Jamie Vardy. As long as he is at the club, this season with the contract he signed and if he ended up staying, there will be a premium attached.

If he was going some way to upholding any standards or being a leader at the club, I’d think maybe he was worth a premium to keep for another year but sadly he doesn’t seem to be.

Not a criticism, he’s done his time and contributed more than anyone could ever have dreamed. He is the ultimate legend of this club. But in my view, and we have our own opinions and I respect you see it differently, but to move forward, we need to say thank you and goodbye.

He also deserves to have a last season or so of fun if he is not quite ready to retire, somewhere in the MLS maybe.

We'd do a lot worse than give him another year on 50k.

This is a club that went out and got Edouard on 80k and Skipp for 25m. It'd probably one of the least risky bits of business we do in the summer.

If he wanted any more than that though, it would have to be goodbye.

Thing is as well, even if got offered it this time would he want it?

He did his bit when we went down. He got us back. Does he really want to do it all again when he's seen the way they've backed the club this season?

Probably not. Think what he has achieved. At his age, will the desire to put those extra yard, that busting a gut to get to the ball be there?

Probably not. And it’s not reflective of a poor attitude or professional, it’s just natural and age catching up. Whereas if he went elsewhere for a new challenge, he might find that easier for another year.

If (when) we go down, he will be too expensive for the championship given that we are likely to be there more than one season.

If we stay up, frankly we cannot move on as a club until he hangs up his boots or leaves on a free.

The fact of the matter is we should have gone in a different direction from Vardy years ago. And I mean at least 3 or 4 years ago. The fact we haven't and are so heavily reliant on a 38 year old speakes volumes about the lack of strategy at the club. It's not 2016 anymore!!! ****ing wake up. It's a joke

Puel disastrously attempted to replace him 7 years ago when the old dog still had years left

However, it was evident in the relegation season Vards had gone. He wasn't a regular. Nor last season. Speaks volumes of our predicament that he's been ever present (more or less) two years older and later amd add to that play is two years more advanced too

There is plenty from this season for vards to self reflect and he will surely come to the conclusion it’s best for him and the club to go seperate ways as much as he loves the club. He has done all he can and owes us nothing.

yes go to MLS  or Saudi and milk every last drop of that magic he still has. Legend!

The reason he's not scoring is the very poor service he's getting from midfield. Bilal and Facundo hold the ball too long at times. Then when they do pass it's very often overhit  or too late and he's covered. They're are young players I get that but they have to realise it's a team game. To score goals you have to get the ball into the box. It's that simple.

Do that and you give him a real chance of scoring.

As to next season, I'd give him some form of a pay as you play contract with a minimum say 40k a week. Then if he plays some form of  top up by appearance and win bonuses.

Its mainly because he just scuffs the ball at the keeper though to be fair.

Granted he has scuffed a few hurried shots. But he's living off scraps.

Winks isn't good enough in the Defensive Midfield role. I'd like to see him move into the advaced 10 role  where is skill on the ball and passing could bring better results.

Plus Winks knows where the goal is and has a shot in him.

We've got to start trying something new, More of the same isn't working.

Poor ****er’s gone from Same day delivery by Barnes, Maddison and Tielemans to economy shipping by Ayew, BDR and Soumare.

That’s generous. Yodel more like.

It is strange that at 38 it's his finishing that's gone and not so much his pace and athleticism.
