whoareyaaa Posted 20 April 2025 Posted 20 April 2025 Why would we go for Martin terrible choice soft as shit 2

Hassenhüttl is apparently on the brink at Wolfsburg and they're a more attractive prospect than us in the Championship, you would think. I'd take him, but not sure it'd be reciprocated. Agreed, Fischer should really be the top priority! 1

Very few managers would have been able to keep them in League 1. We can't get any worse and if it gets rid of RVN, then why not until the end of the season. If he has a good relationship with a lot of the Man City youth players that he coached before then he could be worth a look. You could probably make a decent young premier league side out of the players that won't quite make it to the Man City first team. We did very well in the past with that model from Man Utd at the time (Drinkwater, James, Simpson, RDL) under Pearson. 1

Mark_w Posted 20 April 2025 Posted 20 April 2025 Dave Challinor's record warrants a top end Championship job, he'd be my preference if Nigel isn't ready for spell three. 2

Muzzy_no7 Posted 20 April 2025 Posted 20 April 2025 Dyche, Rohl or Fischer. Whoever it is the board needs replacing and the new manager backing with their full staff.

Our board needs saving from itself. The problem is that they panic if they don't get their first choice - hence Potter to Cooper in about two minutes.

winteriscoming Posted 20 April 2025 Posted 20 April 2025 Can’t see us paying out or them wanting to come to us on Rohl or Roseinor. My preference after those two are Fischer, Quique Sanchez Flores or Priske.

If they don't, it could be interesting with Ligue 1 in a bit of a financial mess. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6281404/2025/04/15/ligue-1-tv-rights-dazn-contract/

He's worked wonders at Hartlepool and Stockport. It's a good shout albeit very unlikely. If he keeps on going the way he is then he will end up managing in the Prem eventually.
Quorndon_Fox Posted 21 April 2025 Author Posted 21 April 2025 Willy Caballero or Carlos Vicens for me.
shilton_fox Posted 21 April 2025 Posted 21 April 2025 Needs to be someone who can change the environment and culture of the club. I think Enzo had started to do this but this season has set us back even further. I would want a young, fresh manager with no fear. Would not want Dyche but can see the rationale for this. 1
MC Prussian Posted 21 April 2025 Posted 21 April 2025 Fischer. Simply for the Swiss element. Been missing for too long since the Berner days (Inler was unfortunately just a blip in the grand scheme of things). But in all honesty, man can manage. What he did at Union was nothing short of amazing. We need that kind of (fighting) spirit. 2
Popular Post Aleksz Posted 21 April 2025 Popular Post Posted 21 April 2025 Burns my eyeballs when I see Dyche suggested. Couldn’t be further away from what we need. Doesn’t have faith in youth at a time when we need to prioritise it for the sake of our own sanity, future and finances. Leaves every club with a rigid mess of technically limited players leaving the next manager needing to turn it upside down to create any semblance of attractive football. Even David ****in Moyes has gone in to Everton saying he needs new players to play a bit differently. But yeah bring him in because he’ll fall out with a few people and make em run a bit more in pre-season 🇬🇧. 5
Number 6 Posted 21 April 2025 Posted 21 April 2025 Said before, we need to go into this season bold, with the intention to bully the league. No pragmatic approach, go out with intent to destroy teams. Tons of goals, flair, aggression. Don't think Dyche, or Martin would be right for this, even though both would probably get us promoted. I like the idea of Rohl though there's the danger that it's too big a job for him. Also like Cifuentes for Champ experience though he hasn't kicked on with QPR this season. Rosenior is also a decent shout I think.

Best form of defence is attack and being as our defence is so poor we need to go for the throat from the get go ... not pi55 about with the 30 passes before going over the halfway line rule Edited 21 April 2025 by Winstonthedog Spelling error
Guest Bilo Posted 21 April 2025 Posted 21 April 2025 Dyche is just the kneejerk reactionary choice for those who think the players need to be punished and run into the ground. They can be 'punished' by being shipped out forthwith. The players who remain need a philosophy, a playing style for modern football and future planning. We may get promotion under Dyche playing the worst football you have ever seen, but would have the exact same problems afterwards because he's Steve Cooper with better PR.
