Problem is with Dyche, he’s not a long-term appointment for me. It’s more of papering over cracks for a year, getting us up with his anti-football and then the cycle restarts.

I’d much rather a riskier appointment like Rohl or Carsley - someone who can implement their methods for the future and build on it.

I'm not advocating for Dyche but frankly I don't see much difference between the football served up this season and what you call his anti-football. The last 8 home games haven't been what you would call entertaining have they?

The club needs direction. We need some standards set throughout the club, be that players at the training ground etc etc. Right now we have no identity on the pitch and an apparent lack of cohesion off it.  I'd also say that there is too much power with our players at the moment. A sort of collective, we don't really like the manager attitude, that leads to underperformance and poor results.

And what is a long term appointment these days? How many managers of clubs outside the top echelon stay much longer than two years in any case?  Yes, ideally, I'd like to see a young dynamic manager come in to the club with a vison that includes all the teams of whatever age, with a clear path to first team football for youth team players.  Sadly I'm not sure football can or wants to work like that any more.

Whoever is chosen will be a risk though.

With Nepo baby’s seeming obsession with possession based football why aren’t the club looking at Spanish football coaches. Míchel has done some good things with Girona and José Alberto López at Racing Santander looks promising. These guys however require a sophisticated backroom operation with an innovative recruitment strategy which of course they won’t get at Leicester.

With a clueless owner and incompetent DoF, it’ll take a Dyche type of manager to get us out of the sh#t. Like Pearson, he’d control most aspects of the football side of the club because Rudkin sure as sh#t isn’t capable of doing that.

You're saying we need a hardcase to act as the opposite of the hardplaces our bunch-of-stupid-rocks leadership currently is? I pity the fools in between :P

Id go for dyche if im honest, a no bullshit manager, demands respect, 100% effort and fight . Tried and trusted in the championship. Lets face it we wont get any of these up and coming ones mentioned , even saw Fabrigas mentioned ..... Move Crudskin to another department or if KP sell up ( yes please ) sack him.... Beg big Nige to come back as DOF he knows the club better than anyone ....Although could well be a clash between him and Dyche .....Is Paul Jewell still knocking around !

Doubt it. Would think Dyche would be right up Nigel's street. Get them both in I say then the playing side would be in good hands.

My biggest problem with Dyche isn’t so much his style of play, it’s he just runs out of steam. At Everton he completely lost the plot, Moyes comes in and completely renovated them, with the same team. I think he’s a better manager than some give him credit for, because he’s looked upon as the modern “Big Sam”, but that’s unfair because he did an excellent job with Burnley. He would probably do a good job given a chance, and he probably in all fairness take us up. It just depends what the blueprint of the club is going to be….

When Burnley were playing well touching Europe, I didn’t think they were anti football at times they looked pretty good…..

I don’t know, Dyche is just a funny one for me, he’s been around for a while, but in terms of him here there’s a bit of an unknown about it….. is it a calculated appointment, or is it a lazy one? Thinking he will cope with what he’s got and the club hope he somehow makes it work?

I’d recommend you listen to his interview on the rest is football - great listen.

I like Dyche. He comes across well and it sounds like Everton were in an even bigger mess than us behind the scenes. This is bound to have contributed.

He's mates with Rudders and I’d hope that he is someone JR would listen to. First and foremost he would get us doing the basics well on and off the pitch and we build from there.

We need to take a step back and look at where and what we are. Ultimately we need stability and to reconnect the fans with the club. I think he would give us a team we can be proud of and would change us from the soft touch that we have been this season.

I’ll give it a listen.

I’ve often had an opinion that there’s more to Dyche than meets the eye. He’s not just an old school modern Big Sam, but he is victim to being type casted…..

All this clamour for Dyche.

If you want a more experienced manager, who can actually play decent football and who actually trusts younger players.

Mowbray > Dyche

But before anyone jumps at me, I’d rather we get a manager in their 30’s-40’s.

I don't really want Dyche but in terms of baby steps to get ourselves back on track as a club, Dyche definitely represents a step in the right direction or atleast the start of turning the ship around, the question is whether we gamble on the unknown and hope they can build a solid foundation, or do we go for foundation builders now, maybe sacrifice exciting football for a bit in order to really build a solid foundation that a future manager can take advantage of.
If we do go for someone like Dyche I think we need a bit of ying and yang with a director of football that focuses on bringing in young exciting players with a bit of bite about them. I really don't want to see the club go down the direction of signing "experience" all the time, Dyche's record of signing cheaper players that can do a job at a higher level is admirable, but his record is also littered with a certain "type" of player, Jay Rodriguez, Jack Cork, Ashley Westwood, Nathan Collins, Robbie Brady, Wout Weghorst, Jeff Hendrick. They weren't massively expensive, but all bar 1 of those names cost >£10m, for that sort of money we could be going in for players like Fatawu, Buonanotte pre Brighton, Bilal type players.

I was anti Dyche, but over the last few weeks I think he's exactly who we need, just like we needed Pearson all those years ago. Top and Rudkin dont have the ability to progress the club, the structure is broken. We need a manager who is a leader, who can clear all the deadwood and build a team on a tight budget.

Burnley is also an absolute hole. That would have impacted recruitment.

Leicester isn’t exactly glamorous but more likely to attract people than Burnley

What this clubs needs now is stability. I really like the idea of Rohl or Rosnier, however, Dyche does bring us safety for a number of reasons. As much as you hate to say it he could be exactly what the club need. No he's not gonna get beautiful football or a top half prem finishes ( if we made it the following season).

He's got good experience in both championship and premier League. Moyes has transformed Everton but let's not forget they weren't getting relegated before he replaced Dyche.

Why the hype though?

He's done a really good job under almost impossible conditions. We need someone who can run a club despite a useless owner

Rohl is off to Southampton isn't he?

That's the rumour but it is just a rumour at this point, nothing concrete, he worked there previously and Southampton were definitely interested in him, but I'm yet to see any evidence of some deal that has been made, if they had a deal in place they might as well bring him in now since the buyout will be the same.
I don't think a deal has actually been agreed personally.

Top has made some big mistakes and is doing a horrible job currently but comparisons with the owners of Sheffield Wednesday and reading are a bit harsh and over the top.

What your describing is a Director or football, that needs to be the first appointment in the summer before we get a new manager.

I wasn't comparing Top to Chansiri. Top is in way over his head but Chansiri is a proper charlatan. I was merely pointing out that Rohl has done an admirable job under difficult circumstances which is what whoever we employ will need to fo

He's an excellent manager who has got a poor sheffield Wednesday squad playing good football.

What he has achieved despite the owner has been remarkable.
