It would seem to me that keeping Ruud to see out the remainder of his contract is, at the moment,  the lowest cost option available to the club and, for that reason, I think that is most likely what they will try to do - at least into the start of next season to see how results go.

Not sure we will ever know the real reason. Was it financial /availability / etc. Surely any aspiring coach would want to work in the prem. Just can't see any improvement if we sacked him and appointed a dyche type manager.

Fair points.

 

All I would say is that I’m 100% certain that if we did (I hope we don’t for the record) bring in a Dyche/Martin that they’d have a full back room team.

 

The fact Ruud didn’t appear to have one ready made, sums up our amateur set up IMO.

EFL Analysis have gained an insight into Ruud van Nistelrooy’s stance on remaining as Leicester City manager.

Ruud van Nistelrooy took over as Leicester City manager in November and was unable to prevent the club from suffering relegation to the Championship.

Leicester would have to pay to sack Van Nistelrooy, and his future at the King Power Stadium has been up in the air.

The Foxes have assessed potential replacements for the Dutchman, with Russell Martin, Lee Carsley, and Sean Dyche all looked at by the Midlands side.

Now, an insight into how Van Nistelrooy feels about remaining in his role has been provided.

In an EFL Analysis exclusive we spoke to our resident transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, about Van Nistelrooy and his Leicester future.

Bailey told us: “Ruud van Nistelrooy did a very impressive presentation to the Leicester hierarchy and John Rudkin recently. I don’t think they’ve made up their minds yet. I think they’ve been impressed by what they’ve seen in recent weeks. I think they’ll assess it.

“I think they appreciate that they really gave him a blank gun in January really and didn’t back him. I think there’s a reasonable chance to stick with him because they like him as a person. His demeanour is good. And while there’s been a few murmurs, he hasn’t really gone to town on the owners in terms of not being backed.

“There’s a real chance he could stay but they’re assessing the situation as a lot of clubs are.”

When asked if it is more the club or Ruud that is thinking about bringing the working relationship to an end, Bailey added: “I think it’s safe to say he doesn’t want to go, because otherwise, why would he do a presentation for them?

“I think we can assume that he’d like to try and get them back. If you think about it, if Ruud leaves Leicester, what’s next? He’s taken that chance. So, I think he’d like the chance to take them back. I do. I think they might give it to him.”

He hasn't said mean things about the board.

Ruud wanted to bring in his own coaches but wasn’t allowed due to PSR concerns. We sacked Cooper and his two coaches.

I’d get looking at managers in Ligue 1, Eredivisie and Jupiler Pro League too, as I’ve said a few times, those three leagues in particular heavily focus on young talent, nabbing a manager from one of those leagues would be my route to go down, exactly like Sunderland did picking up Le Bris from Lorient…

Yet further confirmation, were any needed, of the eye-watering levels of incompetence in our club's boardroom. Any semi-professionally-run club would have insisted on a 'it's a very handsome bonus for you for keeping us up, the flip-side of which is we release you without compensation if we go down' deal. As we did, presumably, with Dean Smith.

Not saying we’ve got a chance of getting him but noticed that Franck Haise at Nice has the one and only Lilian Nalis as assistant manager.

If he had got them at least fighting or made it slightly closer it might be worth keeping. But setting records for losses without goals and losing big games like the wolves one by such a margin makes it very difficult. 
 

If he stays I’d give him a chance before writing him off in the EFL but I think he’ll be on thin ice. And the board will get even more stick if he can’t cut it in the champ.

Yep, he had Nalis while he was at Lens too. 
 

Absolutely loved watching Lens under Franck Haise, but formation wise I don’t think he’d suit us, plus as you’ve said, probably zero chance of getting him. 
 

Will Still or Carles Martinez are the two I’d be looking at, from a style of play and youth development perspective, they’d be right at the top of my wanted list with a few up-and-coming Championship managers.

Was just about to mention Martinez. 
What about Christophe Pelissier at Auxerre? 
Got them up last season and are comfortably mid table in ligue 1.

Bit like Eric Roy at Brest, two older heads who’ve got their teams punching above their weight in Ligue 1. 
 

Pelissier seems like the type of guy you’d want though if you’re an underdog.

I've said his name before but Luis Castro at USL Dunkerque in Ligue 2 is another  - finished 4th in the league and will be in the playoff final tomorrow against Metz for the promotion place

put up a great fight against PSG in the cup the other month, and he's formerly Benfica B's manager so knows a thing or two about youth development

Imo they just ask a few agents and then sign the likes of cooper or ruud

Nothings ever concrete, but the person who normally gives me pretty good info when he can, said he had a couple of people he wanted in, and the club didn’t oblige basically. Not to mention the farcical transfer window….. essentially the club are terrified about PSR and FFP, to the point where we’re going to let it hamstring us, whilst other teams essentially **** it off and take the wrap. 
 

So we’re making even worse decisions now, like not bringing in a proper team for Ruud, and then not backing him in the window….. when you peel the onion skin back, even though he hasn’t done well, Ruud hasn’t been helped.

Reims finished 12th the season before he took over, he took them to the dizzying heights of 11th in his first season and they were 11th when he left with a few games left of his second season, caretaker came in and took 7 points from 9 to move up to 9th.

 

Goes to Lens who have finished 7th, 2nd, 7th, 7th over the last 4 seasons and he has them in 9th with a negative goal difference.

 

His teams also don't score goals, 109 goals in 92 Ligue 1 games over Reims and Lens. 12th out of 18 for goals scored this season and their top scorer is on 6. 11th most goals last season with Reims and 13th most in 22/23.

Fecker doesn’t even have his coaching badges so the club get fined 22k every game, that is a little known secret i thought I would share 😂
