I think thats over exaggeration, however we're apparently going for pep type, I can see your point.

Well there's an important distinction. I think many fans hear "possession football" and collectively groan, because they envisage laborious poassing back and forth between the centre backs. But the original Ajax / Barcelona 433 style is supposed to be about quick first time passing and player rotations to bamboozle the opposition and generate attacking opportunities. Something a bit like this:

Tier 1 - very well regarded journalist.

Bo Svensson interesting

More of a gamble the Cif surely ?

The Black Cats have been linked with a number of young managers across Europe, with the likes of Danny Rohl, Rene Maric and Will Still high on their shortlist.

Meanwhile, one new name that has now emerged as a ‘shock candidate‘ is Bo Svensson.

The Dane left Bundesliga club Mainz in November 2023, having guided them from relegation contenders to a team fighting for Europa Conference League qualification two years later.

Svensson is already known in England, having been linked with the Brighton & Hove Albion job when Graham Potter left.

The 44-year-old is also known to both Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp, with the latter having signed him as a player for Mainz in 2007.

Svensson was part of Klopp’s last season with Mainz, and then went onto retire from professional football in 2014.

Dyche has suddenly gone to 1/25 on- he’s on his way in

Got to the stage I would accept a Dike tbh at least we may have fluid play

They left out a lot of regulars in that fixture

We're not so quick to put a positive spin on negative things around certain other manager prospects lol

I remember thinking it was a welcome result but somewhat tempered when it was pointed out that half the side were second string

Bo Svensson.

We are actually considering someone from abroad with no experience in this country.

Finally.

We always have one that comes out in the piece after appointment. It was Niko Kovac when we appointed Ruud.

Now you mention it that does sound familiar. Wish we’d of got Kovac.

What tier is this Miguel guy, @Finnegan ?

I don't know but Ben Jacobs is mud wrestling Alan Nixon at the bottom of the pile.

That said, about a thousand journos all at once seem to be in a rush to break the Cifuentes news and Percy has said he's a leading candidate.

I think we can be pretty confident he's one of the two "unnamed managers" that had also been interviewed.

He very much fits the profile for us. He's used to working on a low budget, he's got Championship experience, he's more or less out of work and his style of play meets Top's expectations more than Rohl.

I'd be surprised if he isn't on the shortlist of the shortlist.

What do you think of Bo Svensson?

Think you asked me that before lol

A few months ago I thought he was one of the better free agents available, but now more managers have become available, there’s better candidates out there than him.

Did a good job at Mainz for a period of time, but didn’t last very long at Union Berlin.

Dyche, O'Neill, Martin, Wilder, Cifuentes and Rohl.....you'll struggle to get a more eclectic mix of footballing styles.

Dyche and Wilder both come under the same bracket - more experienced coach who tends to focus on a very solid defensive structure.

Both also having managed with a club in a mess behind the scenes.

O'Neil being a young, fairly unproven coach, they went that way with both Enzo and to an extent RVN

Cifuentes and Rohl both taken absolute shit shows and made them competitive teams.
