At the end of the day Winks has been at Leicester for coming up to 2 years this summer and I imagine he's been doing that commute since day 1. The fact it's now only an issue during Ruud's tenure, whilst we're on this honking run, stinks of a PR thing to me to try and deflect some blame on to someone.

I think he can ask the question for him to maybe do one night a week at the training ground but not sure you can sack him off from the squad for refusing.

Heard from a few sources that he's part of a clique down there of senior players who basically run the club.

Under the Little and MON reign, all players had to live in a 20 mile radius.

These show pony's do not care one bit about LCFC or have any interest in relating to the community.

LCFC is there employer, simples.

Aiyawatt allows this.

Baffled by the reaction on here. It's 100 miles down the M1, probably takes him 2 and a half hours.

He's hardly jetting in from Siberia is he

Why are you baffled?

It wasn’t OK with SAF for Beckham to commute twice a week 20 years ago

If it wasn’t good enough for Ferguson and one of the best players in the world at the time, why is it ok for Winks? A mediocre player with a club that’s up shit creek without a paddle?

Every week there seema to be a new story. Seems someones leaking information and shit sturring at seagrave

Exactly this - nothing story allowed out in the public.

However one of the roots of our issues is AIywatt's aiding of creating a hierarchy within the playing staff which get a direct feed into him. Little club of them.

It's... Rebekah Vardy's account!

Yet it has been absolutely fine for multiple players, who have played for this club, to do it in recent years. Schmeichel never moved away from Manchester the whole time he played for us., got a problem with him doing it?

It is all about setting the ground rules with players at the onset. This doesn't sound like the time to introduce changes or setting examples surely it can wait until the summer. The club needs to be sending out the best possible squad and it worries me that Winks is not part of that.

Ruud is the current manager, so entirely up to him. He sees the players every day and believes he/the club could get more out of HW if he stays over for 1 night. It’s clear to us of us that HW isn’t match fit or can’t be bothered to put in max effort ( remember the embarrassing slating he got from Robbie S at WHU away).

Plus at the moment the team is really bad and underperforming. In the past we were winning and successful.

We won the league and FA cup with Kasper commuting from the Manchester area, I believe.

I don't think that where you are travelling from is the problem, but more the culture of the place you are travelling to.

Bloke's just had a baby. Can't blame him from wanting to commute.

Just show's you what a turgid bloke Ruud is aswell as a turgid manager.

It made talksport breakfast news this morning and the general view was, he'll have something in his contract allowing this.

I’m with Winks on this one, if I’ve got a newborn baby on the way and my new boss (who was shit) told me I’d have to stay at work for a night a week, I’d tell him to shove it.

Can't disagree with the newborn aspect there, however they'd be staying in 5* accommodation. It's not like they'd be kipping in a Travelodge

Spot on weak management and too much cozying up to select players by Top undermines management. I hate RVN but over a number of issues he is undermined by failure to hold so called elite players to account. One player living at Seagrave was regularly late for training and this goes on as commuting players turn up late want to go early. Clear the lot out and put in some tough management. This bunch are raping us as a club and supporters.

I think it would be better for the club in all respects if any future signings must live within Leicestershire or no more than 1 hours commute by car to the King power... not in London or Manchester this would then allow them to face the music and put something back into the community

We're paying him nearly double what Spurs were (£5m/year) and we're asking him to not drive 200 miles, one day a week. Hardly a hardship, considering.

As I said earlier, I'd be happy if it drives him out of the club.

This.  And if Kasper was commuting but arriving on time, staying to the end and performing to the maximum there's no issue.

Winks has been an absolute waste of space this season and if RVN wants him to stay at the training ground or move closer, the multimillionaire, elite footballer Harry Winks should take some responsibility for his performances, acknowledge the privileged position he holds, suck it up and make arrangements to put an overnight bag in his car once a week.

iirc Kasper had a driver and a Mercedes sprinter with basically a bed in the back

Winks has had up to 12 months before his partner got pregnant to move, not moving for your football club shows a lack of commitment. He clearly isn't viewing us as a long term position.

Under a different manager though. Different manager, different rules.

Who knows how long RVN has been trying to implement it but it’s bang on

He's not been axed, he was dropped.

I guess if he doesn't play again all season then he was axed. Interesting how it was all ok under Maresca and he was playing well.

TBF, if a player were looking for big city life, Birmingham is less than an hour away, with the nicer suburbs being on this side of the city.

- Dog at the training ground

- Player doesn't want to stay over

Next week on Anthony Herlihy does diversion - "Bobby's final Jobby" Reid sent home from training after blocking the seagrave toilets for a 5th time in as many days.

Doesn’t even get a kick, just had a baby, relegated with a quarter of the season left. Can you blame him? If it’s not in his contract he’s doing nothing wrong.
