Both offer zero protection and contribute nothing going forwards, only passing backwards at every chance. This has become one of my biggest issues of recent weeks, I don’t have an issue per se with Wilf as we know what he is about and too be fair he always gives 100% but Soumare is an absolute fraud of a player. Every game he will make 2 or 3 runs where you think wow this guy could be a real player, but for the most of the game he aimlessly ambles round the pitch, often on the wrong side of his man and in possession playing 5/10 yard safe passes either sideways or backwards. I know Winks and Skipp apppear to be on the naughty step but why would you not mix it up and give one of Henry Cartwright or Sammy Braybrooke an opportunity to start alongside Wilf and the other on the bench. I am not saying either are world class but with one eye on next season the development opportunities this presents would be massive. We are going down, so why not use these last 7 games to focus on getting ready for next season. 6
fox_favourite Posted 12 April Posted 12 April Easy to know what will happen. It'll be a wet wipe of a performance, a standard 3-0 loss and Brighton don't get out of neutral to get that. 1st goal after 12 minutes (I'm optimistic) 1
Pliskin Posted 12 April Posted 12 April Mads Coady Okoli Thomas Ricardo Aluko Ndidi Skipp Monga BEK Evans Skipp in just to change it up.
Channies6thswan Posted 12 April Posted 12 April Just left Crewe -we are all really excited Ruud’s tactical nouse has to shine through today

Claudio Fannieri Posted 12 April Posted 12 April Mads Riccy Okoli Coady Aluko Ndidi Skipp Monga Bilal Mavididi Vardy jake Evans on the bench as a minimum as well. Once our relegation is confirmed bring in as many of the genuine academy prospects and give them valuable experience and make it clear to certain 1st team players that there time is up and need to find a move away in the summer. 4
Brenfox Posted 12 April Posted 12 April I may be losing my mind but I have a feeling we will get something today. Probably a beating. 2

adejo92 Posted 12 April Posted 12 April Dont worry Brighton, we'll turn your poor form around and get you well on your way to those European places. 1
Clever Fox Posted 12 April Posted 12 April It's hard to see where a Goal will come from never mind a Win. Our approach needs to change. Go gung ho. Get it forward quickly And see what happens. And continue to introduce the young players.

I think he’s more than ready in terms of ability. It’s his physicality that worries me at the moment, he’s very slight. Problem is people said that about Thomas compared to Chilwell (and you've highlighted Thomas' biggest issue in terms of physicality). And people talked the same way about Chilwell when he was 16/17. Hard to gauge just how amazing a player is until they're in the first team.

Agree wholeheartedly with the comments about Soumare - total waste of space and a major reason for our current woes (compare his starts with numbers of defeats). His presence has had an adverse effect on both defence and attack - both of which are pretty non-existant anyway! My heart sinks when I see his name on the teamsheet - 'fraud' is a good description. 2

Depends on whether Aluko is quick, as that’s what really lets Thomas down unfortunately

Every club in the world, I think, has the “it’s always us” mentality, when it comes to bad refereeing, ex-players scoring against them (especially those who left acrimoniously), or being Charity FC. But I’m a Brighton fan, and have very real concerns. Despite you being a really desperately poor side under RVN, factually speaking our record for many, many years is absolutely dire at home against teams towards the bottom of the table. This season at home we’ve been held by Ipswich, Southampton(!), Wolves, drew to you away (and nearly lost the thing), and lost to Everton at home. Meanwhile we beat Fulham, Manchester City, Spurs, Manchester United, Chelsea, Bournemouth. I don’t think this will be as one-sided as many fans of both clubs are predicting. We just don’t turn up for these types of matches, and it’s been going on since Potter was here.

To be honest mate even if you didn’t turn up we would somehow put the ball straight out of play from the kick off. Since Xmas this has probably result for result been the very worst premier league team of all time. Anything less than 3-0 to you is a shit day for your lot. 1

How dare you say that about my club. I want you to say "despite you being the most tragic side I've ever witnessed" instead. Please can I have an apology for the slander in not using the correct terminology. Thank you. Edited 12 April by fox_favourite 1
Collymore Posted 12 April Posted 12 April (edited) Yes Soumare needs to be dropped, he's definitely a part of the issues both attacking and defensively. The bigger issue though is our shape with Kristiansen and Justin. These two must be the most ineffective duo I can remember, they neither attack or defend properly and it's so disheartening to see Justin in some promising positions on the right when he's completely clueless and offers no threat in the final third. To have Thomas and Kristiansen in the same team should be a crime. What the hell Daka was doing against Newcastle I'll never know. Seemed to be playing midfield/right wing. Still having nightmares now thinking of Justin and Daka trying to combine. You could tell this was just ad-hoc tactics the players had employed because RVN had just given up. We need to go back to proper basics. We need proper attacking players concentrating on attacking and Daka, Soumare and Faes should never wear a Leicester shirt again. Ricardo in for Justin. Mads should also be dropped. We need to go back to a back 4. Stolarczyk Coulibaly Coady. Okoli. Thomas Ricardo Ndidi Monga. Bilal. Evans Vardy Edited 12 April by Collymore 3
