Just read an article that Nathan Opoku played 45 minutes for the unders in the last couple of days returning from a long spell out injured. Could this be a positive for next season ?

No. 

 

Leuven lads I know don't rate him. They've said in the past he isn't good enough for the Belgian League so don't expect anything big from him here.

Vardy’s contract is up. Daka has a year left and we sell to recoup some cash.

 

Leaving us with Opoku, Evans, Popov & Richards as options. As the most senior of the lot we might as well try him in preseason.

As it stands it will be Daka or Ayew. I know who I would prefer of the two. Vardy is a one off.

Reading Daka still has another year left has ruined my morning. The quicker the likes of him, Soumare, Wout, Kristenson, Cody just leave the better. Earning big bucks and taking us down in a wimper.

To be fair if we aren't going to give Evans or King a chance from the U21s between now and the end of May, we have 1 spare spot in the 25 man squad. Stick Opoku in and play him for the rest of the season, can't be much worse can he?

Started well at Leuven but last season he had issues with injuries, poor form, and then a double leg break

 

At this point better off just getting him back out on loan to eventually sell / or until his contracts runs out and just release him

I thought you could only add free agents to the list once the window has closed?

I maybe mistaken but I thought it was free agents (from prior to the window closing) or current owned players not registered and not at another club on loan.

Problem is as long as Vards is here no one will ever truly "replace" him. If he's fit enough he'll be on the teamsheet. We'll only bed someone in once the situation forces itself

But I think this is also a problem. I went to a home game not so long ago (can’t recall opposition because all the goalless defeats roll into one) and about 70 mins I saw RvN point to his wrist to Vardy as if to say, ‘your time is up and you’re coming off’ - but Vardy shook his head. He stayed on until the end. I’m starting to think Vardy calls the shots, if not on his selection then perhaps other things as well. I love the guy - he’s our greatest ever player - but in that moment I thought perhaps he’s part of the problem. Enzo used him sparingly and as a squad player in the league below…

Need to cash in on Daka ... well I say cash in ... what in reality could we get for a striker who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo  ... but one thought ... a  bit like Joelinton at Newcastle who was a striker but now more midfield ... got to be worth a gamble for the remaining games ... cannot be worse than Soumare

Far far more wow than being a striker ... which he ain't  ... not as an effective central midfield player like Soumare who consistently shines .... but Daka could be tried wide ... always worth a try  ... IMO ...  neither should wear a city shirt ever again
