We love Bollooks on FT.  Facts are generally unwelcome, by most members, as it gives creditablily to this Forum.

That's true but then it would be this 14/15 day rule (if he has not been paid), in which case it certainly wouldn't be the end of next week, so that tweet is still bollocks

I was just providing information that I was given.
and your argument on “why would we waste two weeks” do you remember when we sacked Rodgers? 🤣

Rohl may be buying out of his contract directly, which for both managers and players are now allowed but rare. By not paying staff and players, Rohl is definitely in a better position to negotiate any clause lower. I am sure he'll expect a good signing on bonus wherever he goes, which will cover the cost to buy himself out. It be worth any eventual club to wait.

That's generally how buying out works anyway. It's at the employee's discretion to pay the few to buy themselves out of the contract, but obviously the buying club will either front that fee to the person they're hiring on pay on behalf of. Technically it's never the club buying anyone out of their contract. So in Röhl's case, he'll expect a signing on fee that covers his cost for breaking the contract and then the actual up front bonus.

Point is, waiting a couple of days to save £1-2m makes sense. Waiting 2 weeks at this stage of the season (would be different in the middle of the season), would be completely stupid.

Huh? I didn't ask why would we wait 2 weeks because that's exactly what we would do. I was pointing out that losing 2 weeks of pre season with a new manager for the sake of £1/2m when the cost benefit is significantly higher than that, would be so typical of this club.

All Bundesliga sides have managers or have managers incoming. 2.Bundesliga sides won't pay £1m in compo for a manager.

Doesn’t need to be Bundesliga though it was just an example, he’s clearly a manager with a higher ceiling than us and there could easily be a fall out at a bigger club behind the scenes and they decide to take a gamble, it would be very Leicester city to lose out last minute because we were delaying until the final moments.

We’ve spent years throwing money at anything that looked at us and now we are in a mess and desperately need to make a decision to gain some stability and the club are haggling over a torn fiver.

I get it though, I suppose any time is better than never to start looking after the pennies, but I’d rather we just got this over the line and sacrifice a few hundred thousand from the transfer budget.

Chat GPT has told me only Napoli don't have a manager in the top European leagues. There's really nowhere else for him to go right now.

Apparently Rohl is one of the very people at SWFC that have been paid on time, so unless we go into admin you will need to pay a compo fee. He won’t be able to just hand notice in like some of our players.

Makes perfect sense, pay the people most in demand so you get money for them. Obviously very shit for everyone else though.

Conte is staying at Napoli so that job isn’t available either

Realistically nobody knows, this club have ironed out most leaks, the press are also given nothing to work with. We try to operate in the utmost secrecy.

There’s been hardly a rumour about him, and you’d think it would get out via the Jorno’s on the Wednesday side of things but no, pretty much nothing. Twitter IKS aren’t even gambling in this news.

He may come, but to expect this to be a forgone conclusion and he should have signed from extremely little evidence is wrong.

Right, but my original comment referred to a German club "pulling the trigger", which could happen at any club at any moment, I was more just referencing the fact that we are holding out for a cheaper deal which is understandable given the situation we are in, but it would also be very us if us holding out from £5m, to 2.5m, to now £1m, and then holding out for £500k, then hoping he can get out for £0, only for a German club to have a fall out and sack their manager and gamble on Rohl, not really sure what we are debating here, just a hypothetical scenario that would sum this club up at the moment.

We will hold out to save £500k and end up having to spend more than that on a Rohl alternative.

Yep, most of the rumours from media seem to be based on hype and a pretty obvious link that Rohl wants to leave and we need a manager. LCFC have a tight wrap on most things these days.

… but there’s 80 pages on here, so there must be some substance to it all!

I don't think anyone believes we'll get Rohl for nothing.

He is negotiating his exit….. he wants to leave and I think the likely scenario is we pay the exit fee, which is around £1m at this moment. He’s willing to walk out as he’s already told the ownership he isn’t coming back.

Do you need a Director of Football. We have a good one we could recommend that would help get you out of a mess

It does seem prudent to wait for maybe a week and hope it resolves itself. There's no guarantee that does happen though - can't shake the feeling it smacks of the classic Leicester false economy scenario. We baulked at Corberan's compensation clause, hired the 'cheaper' Cooper then Bought Skipp for £25m.

What does it cost if we don't land Rohl, not just monetarily but in time and to a degree reputation?
