This isn’t happening is it?

On Owlstalk are talking about Röhl as assistant at Brentford.

I can see this due to the following:

> Brentford fans aren't happy with Andrews appointment so Röhl might see it as short term number 2 for a premier league side with potential to become manager one day

> Less compo. It's being said that compo could be around £1m, or £600k, which if you're becoming an assistant might explain that.

> Chance to learn about the prem without being in the firing line.

> Stable club on the whole, but this season will be a bigger test.

Personally, I know people have poo pooed it as a typo but we can't completely dismiss it. I personally think it's a possibility and we'll go for King for the season maybe Powell as number 2 for experience.

I may be talking trash, but it's just something, I think, we can't dismiss

Only our Board could come up with the brain dead idea of giving the job to somebody without a coaching badge.

I mean if a couple of you stuck £20 on then the odds would shorten to 1/4!

still around evens means no one has

I stuck £200 on it on Saturday and the odds didn't flinch.

Would you be surprised if they did. On past showing, I wouldn't be. I don't think it's the right answer by any stretch as I don't want Kingys reputation tarnished as he's a legend

Oh its definitely something I could see them doing. I just think its suicidal, for Top, Rudkin and Kingy.

I’m not saying who I think we’ll end up with if Rohl doesn’t come here……..

Nice to know we aren't the most insane fans in the country.

Danny Rohl's next job isn't going back to being an assistant.

There’s absolutely no chance at all Rohl will take a role as assistant coach, not after two years plus as a head coach. Why take such a gamble? If Andrews was to get sacked, he could get sacked too and then tarnish his reputation.

He will want a top job. The issue we’ve got is Sheffield Wednesday are being added with the compensation. If that’s been resolved that remains to be seen, but Rohl won’t be going Brentford as a number 2.

Personally, I know people have dismissed it as a typo but we can't completely dismiss it. I personally think it's a possibility and we'll go for Kk g for the season, to see 'how it goes'

Like here, Owls talk know as much about Rohl’s side as we do. Check Brentford’s forum, he doesn’t have his own topic (from what I can see) which you imagine would be slightly weird if it’s Brentford discussing compensation... On the Brentford forum they have discussed it but this discussion also includes don’t they mean Röhl’ assistant and wouldn’t this undermine KA knowing he’ll take over should it all go wrong.

The lack of movement just points to us being the club. They’d have announced King by now. Dyche I assume could come in should it fail with Rohl and assume we’re not letting on to anyone we’re negotiating anything to ensure we can keep our options open.

The better not just go for King though like others have said he isn’t ready and wouldn’t stand a chance. Ecstatic he is learning with us though.

Does it matter?

Which part? You could be right and perhaps nothing needs to happen and then we just continue to slide. I think we are in a mess and would like to be reassured that I am wrong.

The lack of a link to another manager in the last few weeks and the lack of jobs Rohl could go to (he's not knocking the manager job here to be assistant at Brentford) makes me believe that Rohl and Leicester is happening and just needs finalising.

I'm still very confident it's going to happen because Rohl and Leicester suit each other and the lack of links elsewhere from both parties suggest both parties are ironing out the details.
