Can’t argue with £20m, we bought for £5m I think so quadrupled in 2 seasons, exactly the model we should be adopting for all our players - shame that’s not the case these days!

He had a stinker when he returned from injury so a fair price.

Said a few weeks back i think £18m + add ons gets it done, especially if we've made decent PSR headroom on Ndidi and potentially Justin going too.

I reckon you're spot on there. I'd be very surprised if it was £20m up front.

I think we should somewhat hold firm on our valuation for Mads. He’s clearly West Ham’s No.1 target.

I think as well if we can stay PSR compliant and get our recruitment done through selling players like Wilf and JJ, keeping players like Mads and Bilal could offer a safety blanket in terms of income the following season should we struggle to get promotion with the points deduction.

I would think (hope) that the pretty good money for Wilf would hopefully mean we aren't quite as desperate for money in and can hold firm in what we want for Mads

Can only bank it once !

and if we stayed down then his valuation would be even lower in line with our desperation!

I think with the noises coming out, it seems like a deal is close and the clubs have likely let in the middle in the difference of their valuations.

Really annoying if we lose him now.

We’ll be nowhere near as good this season without him.

Not sure what you mean Jakob is more than good enough and it allows us to buy a few players

If we have relented I just hope it isn't too much

From that really good West Ham source it sounded like there was still a pretty big gap in the difference

Bit over the top.

Jakub is more than capable

The rumour now, is £20m. We would’ve certainly gone for at least £25m as a starting point.

Unpopular opinion here: I'm not convinced by Jakub. Not by his footwork anyway. A pretty significant downgrade on Mads, IMHO.

Hope he makes me look a twat for saying this lol

I agree with you but what choice do we have, im not confident but i hope with the sales of Ndidi, Mads and Coady means we don't have to sell Fatawu and BEK, doubt it though.

We have to learn from our mistakes and sell when the money is there.

Just hope we re-invest in the right profile of players.

£15m bid for Ryan Yates incoming lol

I do agree with regards to his footwork and passing ability, it is very well below the level of Mads and I think we will have a lot more occassions this season of it playing us into trouble

However I do think he is just as good a shotstopper, and is actually an improvement on commanding his areas from corners and crosses

Was it only £5m? Thought it was more like £15m?

In your opinion maybe.  I think he’s way off Mads.

Mads can start attacks which is massive in the Championship when you have a lot of the ball.

I know it looks like we have no choice so it is what it is…just annoying.

I think more importantly with these sales, it’s puts us in a stronger position for if clubs come in for these players. If BEK was the first transfer out he would be going for at least £5m less than he potentially will be in the future.

As a straight forward keeper Jakob is steady and more than capable in the championship. However I think mads is a different level and has a higher ceiling.

Hope so, could be massive players for us this season, if we can get a decent striker as well i wouldn't put it past us to win the league with this squad.
