Keeping the likes of Mads and Bilal won’t harm us financially, their wages aren’t going to be astronomical. If we can offload Wilf, Faes, and potentially JJ… along with Coady going and Vardy no longer on the books, that will do a lot for FFP, that’s a huge wedge off the wage bill.

Will be interesting to know just how much we need to raise to a) ensure we compky with PSR and b) enable Cifuentes to shape the squad to be balanced enough.

Hermansen at £25m is over £20m in profit, we'd need to sell Bilal for £40m to raise the same. My horrible feeling is someone offers us north of £30m for Fatawu or even £15m for Ben Nelson.

i think it’s more likely we just gamble on selling them at the start of next summer.  which if i was playing footy manager is what i’d be doing if the right bids weren’t coming in

I have a sickly feeling that someone like Leeds will come in for Abdul

I seriously doubt a club will come in for him until he’s proven to have fully shaken off the injury.

it’s too much of a risk

This. Our wage bill is a much bigger issue than our amortised fees.

I agree, but if we can get rid of Mads for 20mil min then thats excellent profit when we have another good keeper ready. We aren't going to be in a position to make 15 mil profit from Bilal right now.

We will definitely be soon at the stage where we consider selling players we would rather not sell if 2 or 3 others don’t leave this week you’d have thought.

Worth noting the year with the worse loses have dropped out of the PSR cycle, our loses for 23/24 were -£19m, we can probably get that down to nothing with health deductions.

Which give us £61 million head room for last season and this season.

We are shedding high earners like Vardy, Coady, Ward, Iversen and look to add the likes of JJ and Ndidi, our amortization is roughly the same it was in our last championship season.

100% which why we have moved on the likes of Coady and Vardy and looking to add JJ and Ndidi.

Ward and Iversen wouldn't have been cheap either.

All I know is that Stolarczyk was really pissed off yesterday.

I was up by the tunnel and he was really unhappy with not playing and it seemed to be more than that i.e like he'd been told he's not starting next week either

Ricardo, Daka and Soumare probably the three highest paid remaining too. I'd be trying to get them out even just as a loan covering their wages.

Understandable. If Mads is still here he will be going on loan I recon.

Good. Really want our players to play.

In the warm up they looked in good spirits though.

Vestergaard is right up there in wage too I believe.

Surely not.  That would leave us with just 2 goalies.

if it keeps Stolarczyk happy whilst we get another year out of Mads before selling I can see it, Begovic and Bausor backing up Mads

hmm. I see what you’re saying, but I think we can all agree that we desperately need a striker. If we can’t shift the gaff then we MUST sell either of those because it has to be u fathomable to go into the new season without a new striker…

we simply can’t afford to keep waiting and waiting to sell the gaff and then end up with no new striker..

But, would selling them over let’s say, JJ, Wilf (entertain me for a second) Soumare and Faes. And not being able to sell any of those mentioned, free up any money for a striker? As the money would likely cover their wages? So, if we can shift those wage leeches out of the team, that would be better. Whereas a huge some will help us, of course, the wage bill would still be huge.

im not sure of a season in recent memory where we have always been able to sell those we want to sell.. sure we’d prefer to sell those you mention.. but we might not be able to.

Kone would be a 5m fee likely over 5 years. I’d say a max of 40k a week that’s 2m a year selling any of those mentioned should be able to cover that.. Wycombe will want this sorting  soon you’d imagine  so we can’t risk losing him to Swansea so really we are in a position where we have to make deals for those we get offers for first. We just can’t risk going into the new season without a new striker…

My season prediction is that soumare has a moderate to okay season and if we go up he gets a  new 3 year deal on the same wage.  It’s just a too predictable trap for us to fall in

Around 1.7m left on his amortisation.

I think he goes back Portugal next summer on a free.

I can't see him going if JJ does.

How can Ricky have anything left of his amortisation.  His initial five years expired two years ago.

You’re spot on, I think I’m getting carried away because we’ve shifted Coady, and potentially Wilf. I think Hermensen will leave, but I’m pretty sure we can afford Kone now, I’d imagine it’s more of a case of if they’re willing to take a risk on him. He could be the next Toney, or he could be the next Craig Makail-Smith and flop.

Up until 2023 whenever a player signed a new contract whatever value was still on them was then spread out across the length of the new contract

JJ has about £800k on him

Can’t remember the last time there was no deadwood in this club.

Striker has to be priority.. Surely.

Sure Ayew might score, but with the opportunity to get Kone in and some good games in the tank, for only 5 million. No brainer surely?
